I am hosting an informational session about Therapy Dogs in the Birmingham area on Wednesday, Aug 28, 2 p.m. If you are interested in serving as a therapy animal team or would like to listen to more information about how to get started, get trained, etc., please let me know. It's about a 45 minute Power Point guided discussion by Pet Partners (www.PetPartners.org), and unlimited Q&A during and after. If you think you might like to, or you would just like more info for future reference, I welcome you. Also, I welcome any local instructors who would like this information in order to help prepare their students for this great service. Off lead socialization with other dogs is almost always a bad idea. Over the past several years I have seen a real uptick in client cases of dog aggression borne of poor socialization training. Almost all of those dogs frequent dog parks and/or doggie daycares.
