Yesterday topped out at 101° and Boz got to do his all-time favorite thing in the whole wide world other than eat treats, go for a swim!! He knows the way and took me there himself. The grass was so tall and my leash was too short so I let him go for it. Boz is the only dog I walk that I would EVER trust to go swimming and come back to me. I've walked Boz since 2018. We have a very special relationship. But he is very well trained in recall but not on many other things. At least he refuses. He was so sweet yesterday. I didn't even call him back. Each time he jumped in, he went a specific distance determined by him, which wasn't far and came out of the water to my feet. I told him to go back. He would bark and jump back in for another swim. He was having a ball. We did this for quite some time. Long enough to burn my shoulders. He ran through the tall grass, and it was like "Where's Waldo" until he got close to me. There wasn't a sole in sight. I wanted to jump in with him, but that's another story. I'm pretty certain by the look on Boz's face he still thinks I'm the BEST Pet Caregiver in NOCO and wants you to vote for me!!

After the 99° temperature today and the predicted 103° tomorrow. Ice Ice Baby sounds like a great plan!! Now, on the other hand, Mice Mice Baby was probably what some dancing cats would have on their minds. But some dancing cats look so cute in hoodies and sweat pants!! Stay cool and safe out there. Walk early or walk late.

Many have thought I'm crazy for walking hands-free when I walk all the dogs I walk. I once thought this concept was completely ridiculous and is an accident waiting for a place to happen. Well, I stand corrected. I've been walking dogs this way for 3 years, and I wish I had started walking dogs this way from the beginning. This would have saved me from many situations I've gone through. But as they say, this is how we learn and become better at what we do and help others do the same along the way. I've tested many tools and found the ones I know are the "Gold Stands" in my opinion!! I consider the Tuff Pupper walking/running belt to be the best. It has the best lumbar support, multiple hooking locations, very durable and reasonably priced. You can buy a single leash or a double and even add ons. The Easy Walk harness by PetSafe Brand is the only harness you should buy. This harness and your dog will do all the training on decreasing pulling on walks with dogs that don't present any leash aggression on walks. You will see improvement immediately. The SideKick Headcollar with Leash by Heather's Heroes otherwise known as the transitional leash that's used around the dogs snout to decrease pulling and many other behaviors and is used as a full training tool. This leash transitions into a slip lead and can be used as this type of leash around the dogs neck when needed. This leash has been refered to by clients as "Magic"!! You can buy all of these tools in many locations. I've listed links below to the Amazon.com. locations where you can find each. I make nothing if you buy from Amazon. I'm just doing my part to help make your relationship better with your furry family members!! Look at Melanie in this video. She had an awful case of tennis elbow from both Cody and Luna pulling her. She had to walk them separately. She thought I was completely off my rocker when I said you're going to not only walk them together but your going to do it hands-free. I'm sure she envisioned herself being pulled around the neighborhood, and tennis elbow would be the least of her concerns and she might need and ambulance later. I told her to trust me. And she did!! I put Luna in the Easy Walk harness first. Cody was already walking using the Sidekick. Look at her now. I consider this a huge win!! I truly believe all of these tools are "Game Changers"!!

Spending some quality time with these 2 Russian Blue sisters Lacy and Lily again!! It's been a hot minute since I've seen these pretty girls. They needed some anxiety treats, and you know I came prepared with the teeats to help them get through the 4th festivities along with playing some music to help drown out the noise. I'm not sure if it helped, but they liked the treats.

Ghost and Vincent have been having so much fun with all their new kitty enrichment toys for their food and treats. Each of these engage them more while they're eating and slow their eating pace down. They love their new snuffle mat with treats on it, as well as catnip and mint. They have lick mats, slow maze feeders, and other fun puzzle toys. The butterfly is one of the other favorites along with the treat ball. Their mommy bought new pole toys and other fun toys we use during our visits during our one on one olay time. Along with all our other kitty responsibilities, we make sure the kitties get tons of love and attention when they're apart from their mommy and daddy. These boys have it so good in their forever home.

I found out my favorite guinea pig, Nibbles has passed away. I cared for this cute little guy for several years. When his family needed to find him a new home so he could get the attention he deserved, they reached out to me, wanting to know if I knew of anyone. Through a great friend of mine, she thought she might know someone who could help. This friend of hers was a true guinea pig enthusiast, and her daughter was old enough to have a pet she could help provide the care. She had recently asked her mom if she could get one. So the stars aligned for Nibbles, and he found his new forever home in March of 2024. He lived almost a year and a half with this loving family, spending most of his days helping with homework, getting his favorite yummy foods, being brushed, and loved nonstop. Nibbles made it to 7 1/2 years old and lived out the remainder of his life getting all the things he loved most. Rest in peace, Nibbles. I'm so glad I got to know you and care for you. You always made me smile and laugh.

Some days all you need are kisses from Bella!! I have enjoyed watching Bella grow up for the past 6 years since I met her when her mommy brought her home as a little puppy. Time sure does fly by when you're having fun. Really, it flies by when you have such fantastic clients and you love their pet family like your own!! And of course when they love you back!! This is what keeps me going each day and reminds me I'm doing what I was meant to do!!

For those with that have the finicky cat or dog... when you know you know!! I just had to post this today because it made me laugh. I have one of these kitties at home, and we're working with a picky boy right now. For the moment we've found some food he likes. The trials and tribulations of being a cat parent and a pet caregiver. There are many days I just wish I spoke the actual cat language so we could just talk through this food situation. The guessing game is a hard one at times. You feel like you miss more than you hit!!
