All Formalized Obedience classes are on Tuesday & Thursdays nights. 7:00 p.m.– 9:00 p.m. for dogs 6 months on up. Puppy Boot Camp are on Monday & Wednesday nights
7:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. for puppies 11weeks up to 5 months old. You must bring a copy of your K-9’s shots from the Vet to the clinical class before you can bring your canine into the building. Your dog must be up to date on all shots:
►Bordetella
►Distemper
►Rabies
Registration is based on a first pay bases and must be received in advance to assure your spot in the class. NO REFUNDS, IF YOU DROP OUT or CANCEL. A Certificate is issued at the end of class. K-9 training equipment is available for purchase for classes.
3) KENNEL BOARDING SERVICES

All kennels are heated and air conditioned
Cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis
Have their own interior and exterior private runs
Dishes for food and water provided
All kennels are licensed and inspected yearly by the Saginaw County
Animal Control. Your dog must be up to date on all shots:

Price per day is $35.00. Drop off and pick up times are from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. If pick up is before 11:00 a.m., you will not be charged for that day. No drop offs or pick ups on holidays. All proceeds from the above services are donated to Precinct 131, a non-profit organization. About the Instructor:
Joaquin Guerrero is an Instructor in civilian obedience and Full Police K-9 Utility Work. He is trained in Obedience, Handler Protection, Tracking, Building Searches, Area Searches, Evidence Searches, Narcotic Detection, Explosive Detection, K-9 S.W.A.T, & K-9 Therapy. Joaquin received his training from K-9 Academy in Romulus. Joaquin is retired from the Saginaw City Police Dept. as a Police K-9 handler and is a Certified Trainer, by the U.S. Department of Justice, in Incidence Response to Terrorist Bombing for Weapons of Mass Destruction, Incidence Response to Su***de Bombings and National WMD Standardized Awareness Training. He and his partner K-9 Rookie went to New York to respond with their expertise after 9/11/01, terrorist attack on the World Trade Center to help in locating the missing victims. They also aided in the areas of K-9 Therapy. He has now taken his dog training to a new level. His Dog Lil Chief has appeared in several movies. In 2020 Lil Chief appeared on the Lifetime Movie Network in a move call 'Secrets in the Snow '
In 2021 Lil Chief did promotional for the 2021
Cadillac Escalade. In 2022 Lil Chief appeared in critically-acclaimed film CROOKERY, filmmaker
Jonathan Perry.
Apache Acres One on One training session. Meet Zoey, a three-legged Dutch Shepherd mix with a history of uncontrollable leash behavior. Despite previous training attempts with another trainer, Zoey was unsuccessful and continued to drag her owner on walks.
In the first half of our one-hour session, we achieved significant progress: Zoey learned to walk at heel without pulling, execute a right about turn, and perform a sit at heel.

Our Formalized Obedience class has been putting in great effort these past couple of weeks, collaborating with their Caine partners to learn various commands, including walking at the heel, sit, right about turn, stay, and down.

Two members of the Apache Acres Scent Work Team attended the CPE Scent Trial this weekend. Sharing Jackie Fleming post,
Elaine and Zues qualified 8 out of 9 times with all firsts and seconds! Congratulations to Elaine and her dog Zues! Harley and I also qualified 8 out of 9 times with all blues and one second place finish (not shown). Harley loves going into the show ring and performing at his best. I am always amazed by his performance! A special thank you to our instructor Joaquin Guerrero for his guidance and support. We are grateful for his dedication and appreciate the time he takes to work with us every Monday.

We did a sniffy thing today, at the Saginaw Fairgrounds, Chesaning, MI!
What nice show, the judges and the helpers were all so nice and it helped having beautiful weather!
I was very proud of Harley, we did our first HD Advance and we Q’d 1 out of 2, with a second place. That was the hardest for him!
Detective we Q, it would have been first place by 2 minutes, but we had a fault and dropped us down to last place. That was a hard one to except!! Plus, We got 2 first in Burier Excellent. It was a fun filled day!! Great seeing most of my classmates there!

I'm thrilled to introduce Ladessa and Rose, in my Project Guardian Angel program. Today marked their first Service Dog training session, where we evaluated Rose's aptitude by testing her with the necessary equipment that will be ordered to fit her perfectly. We focused on walking at the heel, sit, stand, leash control, post command, and distraction techniques with people and other dogs. Rose demonstrated her natural talent and did very well for her first session!

Staci and her dog Truly began their first One on One training session. Truly had a tendency to pull and drag Staci while walking, and would become uncontrollable when encountering other dogs, often lunging at them.
Staci and her Aussi dog Truly successfully learned three key obedience commands during their first initial training session, including leash control, walking at the heel, and the 'leave it' command, despite the presence of distractions.

Ladessa and Rose are making remarkable progress in the Project Guardian Angel Service Dog training program! Rose learned how to walk at the heel next to a shopping cart. She then retrieves a dropped item that her handler had dropped while shopping.
K-9 Gryff and Mary rocked their training session! Gryff quickly picked up walking at heel, right about turns, and sitting at heel position. Mary's leash control and hand gestures were on point, and her voice commands were confident and clear. Gryff demonstrated remarkable resilience during training, handling distractions very well.

The Circle Right and Circle Left Distraction. Teaching the Dog to remain in the Sit Stay.
We now stepped it up with Distraction Objects and change of surfaces on the walkway of the Handlers and Dogs.
Handlers and their dogs were introduced to object distraction. While having obedience commands give. Handlers are to maintain proper leash control, dogs are to walk at the heel and follow commands.
Now that the Handlers and their dogs have learned the Leave It Command. We've stepped it up on the 5 week of training.
Handlers are also taught the Come to Handler command. Dogs are to remain in a Sit Stay as Handler leaves their side and goes out to about 15ft from the dog. They stay in that position until called.
Here is a video of the Handler and Dog being introduced to the Leave It Command. There is a Fresh Hot Dog lying on training floor in the dogs pathway along with other dogs a few feet away. This is their Distraction training week.
Now these two did a awesome job. From Sit Final Product to just learning down level #1 This is just after two sessions. It only gets better at Apache Acres Training Facility.
This little recruit didn't want to down. But with a little patience it happened. 🙂 The smile on the Handler face says it all.
