Be on the lookout: keep garbage cans secure and make sure these dangerous foods are not sitting on low tables. As part of our program which helps the homeless cats of our community, PFA has a limited supply of humane traps that we make available to rent, so caretakers can safely transport these cats to our nonprofit vet clinics. Unfortunately, our Hillside location has loaned out six (6) traps over the past few weeks, and NONE of them were ever returned! The Hillside office is in high demand and we regularly reach daily capacity for TNR services, but the loss of these traps hurt not only our efforts, but also affect our well-meaning clients who are trying to help the stray cats of their neighborhood.

With the cost of medical supplies soaring, it would set us back to replace these traps but YOU have the power to ease this burden. We have new replacement traps listed at the top of our Amazon.com Wishlist: https://bit.ly/hillsidepfa

With just a few clicks, you can donate a trap to PFA and make it easier for stray cats to get life-saving, essential care from our vet team. Earlier this week, the community of Hillside, NJ was severely impacted by a five-alarm fire, which spread through a neighborhood, devastating several businesses and displacing 32 residents. Our clinic is *SAFE* and was *NOT AFFECTED*, but Hillside has been PFA's homebase for over 40 years. While there were no human fatalities, we have been notified that some of our regular pet patients that we have treated over the years tragically perished in the blaze. We extend our condolences to our clients and anyone else who has been directly affected by this incident. If you or someone you know is experiencing a crisis and needs help caring for their animal companions, PFA has a list of statewide resources available for pets and their families. Thank you to everyone who has already signed-up to volunteer at our Tricky Tray Fundraiser, this Friday night, September 12! We could still use a few extra helping hands during the afternoon set-up and throughout the evening's festivities! If you'd like to donate a few hours of your time to our nonprofit vet clinic, there's still time to submit a volunteer application! PFA needs some helping hands! We need additional support at our Annual Tricky Tray, happening on September 12 at the Pompton Lakes Elks Lodge #1895, Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, 07442. YOU can donate a few hours of your time and help turn our biggest fundraising event of the year into a GIANT success!

Here are some of the jobs that our team needs help with:
* Pre-event set up, from 2pm to 5 pm.
* Selling tickets, from 5pm to 7pm.
* Handing out prizes to contest winners, from 7pm to 10:30pm.
* Cleaning up after the event, from 10:30pm to 11pm.

Other duties may include:
* Staffing tables
* Selling raffle tickets throughout the night
* Distributing fliers & other PFA promotional materials
* Photography

You can also help us in the weeks leading up to the event, in a variety of ways:
* Making gift baskets in advance. Basket-making typically occurs on Sundays & Mondays in Rockaway, NJ. Shifts are flexible.
* Preparing ticket packages in advance of our event. Shifts are flexible, but typically occur on Sunday & Mondays in Rockaway, NJ, and on weekday afternoons at our Hillside Clinic.
* Soliciting and collecting donations & gift cards. Shifts are flexible.
