STARLA AND SPARKLER, TWO BEAUTIFUL BONDED BICHONS BEING FOSTERED IN BETHESDA, MARYLAND
Why haven’t these little Fluffs been adopted? We can’t figure it out because they are so perfect! To remind everyone, Starla and Sparkler (Sparky) are six- and eight-year-old bonded Bichons who arrived at the Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue (OBG) after being confiscated from a Virginia puppymill/hoarder, filthy, scared and in desperate need of medical care. OBG reached out to us for help in finding them a perfect home. Despite the deprivation of their early years, they are amazingly sweet companions who deserve to spend the second half of their lives as pampered and much-loved Bichons.
Starla is an approximately six-year-old, 15-pound sweet, beautiful girl. She looks forward to her evening snuggles on the sofa and will let her Foster Mom know in no uncertain terms if she forgets or is late for their special time together. Treats? You bet! She particularly delights in chicken. Starla and Sparky love, love, love chasing each other around the backyard. Starla has been spayed and is in excellent health.
Sparkler (aka Sparky), an eight-year-old, 15-pound boy, loves to play with toys and other dogs. He does an exuberant Bichon Blitz around the yard and throws himself into his Foster Mom's lap for snuggles. Sparky has been neutered and is in good health. He is making good progress in his housetraining but wears a bellyband “just in case.” He is missing all his teeth (likely caused by poor nutrition in his early years), so his tongue hangs out to the left of his mouth, which is oh-so-cute! But never fear, he can eat his favorite kibble without a problem!
Starla and Sparkler clearly love each other, so they must be kept together. They take a little bit of time to warm up to new people, but when they do, their friendly and enthusiastic Bichon personalities come shining through. Their ideal home would include a securely fenced yard. They both do well with other dogs. Children make them nervous so adults and young people above the age of 13 who are patient and would respect their boundaries are a must.
We are asking the beyond-amazing Bichon Community to step up once again to help two Bichons in need. If you would like to give them a loving home (and reap the rewards of boundless loyalty and special companionship these dogs will give), please complete a BFCACT application to adopt at https://www.bichonrescue.org/adoption-form
We will pass it along to OBG for their review and adoption decisions.
Thank you so much!
