We are so proud of Kate Fleming-Kuhn andher entire team at Starwest! Kate and Franzsis HSR (Franziskus x Simone) won both their classes at the US Dressage Finals this fall. Not only did they win the open PSG class, but their partnership continued to win open Intermediate I. There will be more to follow as more results are coming in!

Kathryn Fleming-Kuhn paused when she was asked what it was about Franzsis HSR that caught her eye when she saw a video of him as a newborn foal.

To continue on with my catch-up posts (goodness, I really failed this summer) Super congrats to Pamela Porter Englund and her stunning mare First Glance HSR (Furstenlook x Sir Donnerhall x Revelant) barn name Ginny! Pam and Ginny won their Championship USDF Training level class, region 7, after a fairly exciting first level class with some definite expression lol. Ginny was able to recover and come back with a lovely, consistent, elastic test.
To add to the excitement, their championship result earned them a trip to the US Dressage Finals in 2025. I am so excited that Ginny found her person and that they are such a wonderful team!!! Congrats again!!!

So I just realized that it’s been a dog’s year since I posted anything to FB! I’ll be catching everyone up on what’s been happening over the next week or so. There’s so much to catch up on!

Kate Fleming-Kuhn and Martin Kuhn had a spectacular U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions in August with some of their horses. Among others (congrats to Maurine Swanson), they took Matchmaker HSR, Fiorenza HSR and Franzsis HSR with great results.

Franzsis HSR (Franziskus x Sandro Hit) (Owned and ridden by Kate Fleming-Kuhn) finished 3rd place overall in Developing PSG at Festival of Champions and was the #1 US bred horse in the class! This gelding just gets better and better every time he’s in the show ring. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this pair.

Matchmaker HSR (Morricone x Royal Diamond) (Owned by Kelly Griffith and ridden by Martin Kuhn) finished 11th in 5 year old division at Festival of Champions. He is really developing and shows such athleticism along with a great mind! We are so excited to see how he develops.

Fiorenza HSR (Franklin x Sandro Hit) (Owned by Deb Kalmen and ridden by Kate Fleming Kuhn) finished 6th overall in an incredibly competitive 4 year old division with very limited show ring time. The future is so bright with her!

We’ve thought long and hard about finding this filly her perfect situation, but we think it’s time! Dior is a lovely first generation De Niro filly. She could go any direction you’d like, Eventing, Dressage or even the Hunter ring. Super cute over fences, she’s willing and expressive. She’s also an absolute dressage prospect with a swinging trot, uphill with a deep step behind as well as a balanced canter and a walk with a good step under. Very correct, balanced with clean limbs and feet. She has a strong, confident personality, perfect for the show ring. Dior got a super start and then we brought her home for the winter. She’s ready to go back into training and start a full-time job. She has good ground manners, handles both stall and group life with no issues. She has a good full set of films including back and neck.
