Moving day
Sadie’s pup left yesterday and we moved Juliet, Nutmeg, and Scarlett, along with their pups into the new puppy room (still under construction). 🙂
Klaus
I don’t know what to think anymore. I’m just as confused as y’all are I’m sure. I took Klaus off oxygen last night around 5:00 pm. He had no energy, and couldn’t hardly lift his own head at that time. I was exhausted from the night feedings throughout the last couple weeks, and decided to go to bed shortly after 7:00 pm. I woke up at 1:30 am to pee, and though I probably should go downstairs and get Klaus out of the kennel, I thought for sure he would have expired by that time. I couldn’t believe what I saw. He had gotten separated from his littermates, and was crawling around the kennel looking for them! It had been 8 1/2 hrs since he’d eaten, and when I picked him up he was obviously hungry because he was rooting at my hand. I couldn’t help myself, I fed him. I swear his breathing has actually gotten a bit better being with his litter. I guess he wasn’t ready to quit.
Klaus video two of breathing
Video two of two.
Klaus gained more weight overnight and is showing small improvements, but his breathing is still very concerning. He needs constant oxygen. I’m posting two videos of his breathing. If you listen closely you can hear the fluid in his lungs and his labored breaths. I’m going to hold out a little longer and evaluate his condition. I hate to say this, but it may come down to a quality of life decision.

Klaus
Klaus is still marching forward, and just so long as I see small improvements, we’ll keep working on him. He’s still pretty gaspy, but he’s got more energy than he previously did. Keep going buddy.
