Chi Town Rescue Chihuahuas are one of the most over-bred dogs in Az and unfortunately many end up in need of rescue... hence the name, Chi(huahua) Town!

We are a primarily small-breed rescue that takes in unwanted dogs (and some cats), and helps them find new homes. We are a dog Rescue located in Phoenix, Arizona. Chi Town" is short for "Chihuahua Town," which is our nick-name. Chi Town Rescue saves small dogs, some who require a little extra TLC. Many of these dogs are Chihuahuas or Chi mixes, hence our name! These dogs may not be doing well for

a variety of reasons- fear, fear aggression, anxiety, or a medical needs to name a few. Dogs that have no other outlet make up most of our residents. After our dogs are medically cleared and/or their behaviors have improved and we’ve learned how to manage the behaviors, we make them available for adoption. TODAY IS THE DAY! Join us at the Pops for Paws "Stuff the Truck" Donation Drive, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Daddy O's Grill, 4163 W. Thunderbird Rd., Phx. Bring a donation for Chi Town Rescue (that's US!) and have your picture taken with Santa; two and four-legged friends welcome! The Terrier puppies are getting BIG, and they want outta here! Mama Skittles' adorable puppies were born October 1, 2024. Seven-months-old puppy, Domino, is still looking for his forever family! Domino is shy with new people but warms up given a little time. Once he knows you, he will show you his goofy and playful personality! Domino LOVES to do play-yard zoomies, chase toys, and wrestle with his doggy pals. He is full of puppy fun and love, he just needs a little extra time and patience to warm up. We recently swabbed Domino for a DNA test, so stay tuned for those results! Gorgeous Tabby kitten Alexis was brought in from an outside feral colony. She is a shy gal who has slowly been warming up to us with time and routine. We would love an experienced foster or forever home for her! Alexis' estimated birthday is June 13th, making her approximately six-months-old. She enjoys the company of her kitten roommate, and could potentially do well with your cat(s) at home too. Alexis LOVES kitty yogurt (like Churu) and that is definitely the way to her heart. She has started coming out of hiding more, to see what we are up to, and recently started feeling comfortable enough to play with the feather toy! Say hello to Lacey! Lacey is an approximately three-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua mix, available for adoption through Chi Town Rescue. Lacey came to the shelter along with ten other dogs, as part of a hoarding case. The dogs were all at different levels of their fearfulness and Lacey was one of the group that needed some extra socialization with people. A very nice couple stepped up to foster her, and Lacey has made so much progress in the home setting that we feel she is ready for forever! Lacey's ideal home would be a patient one while she gets used to a new environment. She is still shy with new people and has not warmed up to the male in the home as fast as the female. With her foster mom, she is sweet and cuddly. She has gotten better at meeting new people, but will seek comfort from those she knows. In true Chihuahua fashion, she will pick her person and stick by them. Lacey does enjoy the company of other dogs and enjoys playing with her doggy foster sibling. Another dog (or two!) in her new home may help her to feel comfortable faster in a new environment. Once Lacey is comfortable with you, she is affectionate and will show you her adorable "bunny hop" when she is excited. We are so grateful to Lacey's foster family for helping her on her journey to forever. We know Lacey's furever people are out there- could that be YOU?! Doesn't Alyster have the most soulful eyes?! Alyster has been at Chi Town Rescue around three years. He was originally brought in with quite a few other dogs, from a hoarding situation. He has made a ton of progress over the years with his people socialization and we think he is ready for a foster or forever family. Alyster is shy at first but will warm up given time and patience. When he trusts you, he will flop over for a belly rub (his favorite!). He is a mostly mellow and quiet dog who is very dog social. He enjoys the company of other dogs and we would love for him to go to a home with at least one other dog, to help him adjust to his new environment faster.

Our shy and sensitive longtimer, Wiley, would love a foster or forever home. He prefers a low-commotion/quiet environment and is open to sharing his home with other dogs. We have discovered though, that he is NOT a fan of cats and will bark any time he sees them. Wiley has an old leg injury that healed on its own, causing his leg to be deformed. He uses his leg as a sort of "crutch" to get around. Wiley is mellow and generally quiet. He is shy at first, but enjoys pets and love from those he knows. Don't forget about our donation drive/adoption event tomorrow, December 7th, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Dirty Dogg Saloon in Scottsdale (10409 N. Scottsdale Rd). Chi Town's very own "Bad Santa," SCOOTER, will be on-hand to serve up some holiday cheer. We will also have some adoptable dogs to visit with and are happy to talk to you about our rescue mission and volunteer opportunities. We are also very appreciative of donations, especially some things we can use for our own "Dirty Doggs," Bubba and Scooter; baby powder, diaper wipes, and diaper rash ointment are high on our list for all those diaper changes. Copper is the cutest mix of Chihuahua and Basenji (our best guess!) with his big, pointy ears and loooong, tall legs. Copper is approximately one-year-old and is available for adoption through Chi Town Rescue. He is shy at first but will soon be hopping up on you with his long legs, for attention and lap time. He enjoys socializing with other dogs and zooming around the play yard with his long legs. Copper has a moderate energy level and is a great combo of playful and sweet.
