K-9’s learn to think independently and perform the task at hand with minimal or no support from the handler. K-9’s come from Detection Dogs USA LLC fully trained and ready to work at age 1.5 to 2 years giving your agency, company or family the longest working career of the asset. Certification testing and other qualification testing is performed in the United States with handlers from Detection Dogs USA LLC to demonstrate the performance and skill upon delivery. Your K-9’s and K-9 detection teams are maintained through their working life with continuous training and assessment under partnership with Detection Dogs USA LLC. Personal Protection K-9’s are maintained by Detection Dogs USA LLC through continuous K-9 training and assessment to ensure the asset is always performing according to its mission. DDUSA is pleased to announce the delivery of K9 Ronan. Rescued by Ark Charities of Brookfield CT, Ronan graduated the family pet program with an AKC K9 Good Citizen title! We wish Ronan and his new family (including K9 Farrah- an earlier graduate of the DDUSA family pet program) a long and happy life!! Congratulations to the new family on the addition of an awesome K9!

The puppies were in the house for Thanksgiving! DDUSA had 4 rescue German Shepherds in for board and train for the week! All alumni (and current) K9’s of the board and train family pet program.

K9 Onyx participated in a mock search and rescue drill with the local fire department! K9 Onyx located the two injured hikers efficiently and brought in the rescue personnel. Nice work Onyx!

DDUSA is proud to announce the delivery of K9 Farrah to her forever family. Adopted from Ark Charities in CT, K9 Farrah spent 5 weeks with DDUSA learning basic obedience, house skills and manners, and had extensive environmental exposure. We are excited for her future adventures with her forever family. It’s exciting to see the DDUSA family of K9’s expanding throughout the USA!

DDUSA is excited to announce K9 Onyx has successfully completed NYSFEDSAR trailing certification! K9 Onyx and her handler are now Trailing and Wilderness recovery certified for New York and Connecticut! An awesome little K9 continues to improve her skills to serve the community as a SAR K9 with DDUSA and Disaster and Wilderness Ground Searchers Inc. (DAWGS).

It’s been a while since I have posted K9 Onyx trailing. Did a 1200 meter 45 min aged urban trail through busy town and nice indication on subject at train station! K9 Onyx dual purpose - live find trailing and wilderness recovery certified.
