DDUSA is proud to announce the delivery of K9 Farrah to her forever family. Adopted from Ark Charities in CT, K9 Farrah spent 5 weeks with DDUSA learning basic obedience, house skills and manners, and had extensive environmental exposure. We are excited for her future adventures with her forever family. It’s exciting to see the DDUSA family of K9’s expanding throughout the USA!

DDUSA is excited to announce K9 Onyx has successfully completed NYSFEDSAR trailing certification! K9 Onyx and her handler are now Trailing and Wilderness recovery certified for New York and Connecticut! An awesome little K9 continues to improve her skills to serve the community as a SAR K9 with DDUSA and Disaster and Wilderness Ground Searchers Inc. (DAWGS).

K9 Onyx had her first deployment in Search and Rescue today as a part of a contingency of 34 ground personnel and 5 NYSFEDSAR certified wilderness recovery K9 teams supporting law enforcement in New York TODAY!! A job well done by Onyx and her NYSFEDSAR colleagues!

K9 Onyx had a busy weekend working with several NY State K9 teams on water recovery. She learned to indicate on source underwater, worked shoreline indications, and her handler gained invaluable experience about how to read Onyx’s body language as she honed in on the location of the source while working on a dive boat. A great experience for all!

K9 Onyx worked so hard today and she is now a certified wilderness recovery K9 for the NYSFEDSAR. She is an amazing little pup that showed her true spirit and tenacity today!

Congratulations to Handler Rick and K9 Onyx for the successful completion of the NY State Federation of Search and Rescue Teams Wilderness Recovery certification test.

K9 Recall

K9 Odin makes his find during SAR training today. NY and CT Certified Air Scent- “recall-alert-refind”. A great day of training for all of the pups, handlers and field assistants!

K9 Onyx is a Rock star! She is learning new scents and is very dedicated to odor!
