As a Kennel Technician, you'll be the unsung hero of our shelter, responsible for making sure our furry residents have clean, comfortable, and safe living quarters! You'll be the one who feeds waters, and cleans up after our animals, ensuring they have everything they need to stay healthy and happy. 🐶🐱

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
🐾 Cleaning and disinfecting animal kennels and living areas
🐾 Feeding and watering animals, following specific diets and instruction
🐾 Providing enrichment and socialization opportunities to our animals
🐾 Monitoring animals for signs of distress or illness, and reporting any concerns
🐾 Helping with adoption events and other shelter activities as needed!

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a self-starter who's not afraid to get their hands dirty! You'll need to have strong time management skills and be able to juggle multiple tasks at once, all while providing compassionate care to our animals.

This is so sweet and a reminder that God created all of us, even the animals , to comfort and care for one another.

The lighter penguin is an elderly female whose partner died this year. The darker one is a younger male who lost his partner two years ago. Biologists have followed them as they meet every night to comfort each other. They stand for hours together watching the lights. Photographer Tobias Baumgaertner captured this image of two widowed fairy penguins looking over the Melbourne skyline. It has won an award in Oceanographic magazine’s Ocean Photography Awards 2020.

This made me think of all the pups I’ve cared for over the years,especially my Savannah who went to Heaven this year. I know she’s running and swimming alongside her daddy. You go, Girl!!
