This is the fluid I pulled off a friend's silkie hen with water belly, approximately 250mls. Although she likely could have had this much more pulled off, she was breathing better and I didn't want to send her into shock.

I can only get ahold of Frank "after hours", and noticed he had a ball of mud on a toe. What I hadn't spotted was his crazy spur! Poor old man, all clean and able to walk easily now.
