I am sharing this for my dear friend Maureen Penny Hawes and her daughter, Sarah. Today, Judy Hunter and I head up to Duke for one of her regular 6 month appointments following her breast cancer treatment. We are very lucky and grateful that things are going well and are keeping them in our thoughts.

From Penny:

I have started a GoFundMe to help us deal with Sarah’s cancer surgeries, treatment, and the normal living expenses that we won’t be able to cover when I cut my hours back to help her recover from her surgeries and treatments. It’s been, as Queen Elizabeth II described it, an annus horribilis.

I know this has been a challenging year for many of us. If you would be willing to share the link to our fundraiser, I would be beyond appreciative, and if you care to donate, please know that we will be eternally grateful. Please send healing energy to Sarah as we approach the toughest time of our lives. 💕💕

Hi, My name is Penny (Maureen) Hawes. I started this fundraiser for our family. Let me… Penny Hawes needs your support for Help the Hawes Family Push Through

About Alison

I am USEF Senior Dressage Judge with Young Horse, Freestyle, and Equitation designations. I am available to judge throughout the US and Canada and usually travel 2-3 weekends a month both locally and across the country. I enjoy judging all types of shows. This year, for example, I will be judging large and small licensed Dressage shows, Dressage schooling shows, Horse Trials at all levels, and a 4H Championship Show including Western Dressage classes.

I am a USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold medalist and have been named to the USEF Long List at Grand Prix. I have many years of experience teaching riders of all levels on a wide variety of breeds. I am available for Dressage lessons in and around the Aiken area. I am also available to travel throughout the US for Dressage clinics and Fix-a-tests or to conduct less formal clinics, “mini clinics” or fix-a-tests in the Aiken area.
