Blue's Mews is a small, volunteer-run cat rescue dedicated to assisting cats & kittens at risk. Why adopt from us? When you adopt from us, our care doesn't stop.

Because we are serious about each and every kitten. All of our adoptable kittens have had (at least) their first FVRCP; most have had two FVRCPs and their first FeLV. We ensure our kittens get their complete shot series, even after you adopt them. We follow through with spaying and neutering, and cover microchipping as well! Kittens come with a 2-week health guarantee. If they need vet work, we ge

t it for them. When you adopt from us, you are not adopting "trouble." Blue's Mews kittens are highly socialized, and fully vetted. We keep our numbers under control so we can give our kittens the best of food, the best of vet care, and the best of attention. Hey Ya’ll, it’s me, Beatrice, your favorite feline southern belle 🐈.
I’m sitting here all cozied up in my foster home, trying to stay warm, cause this cold weather is something else! The way it’s affecting my personal palace has gotten me all worked up.
People here acting all sorts of crazy! My foster mom, bless her heart, she musta caught some brain freeze out there and gone plum off her rocker, bringing the outside animals inside -- like that’s a thing. Walking in here with an arm full of chickens,
Rabbits, and -- for gosh sakes -- 3 ducks! These animals were raised in a barn, and it shows! All up in everybody’s business, acting the fool, and laying eggs -- in public! I have got to get out of here. My mama raised me to have poise and grace. I do NOT plop down in front of the TV and pop out kittens while everyone is binging Bridgerton 🙀. Somebody better sn**ch me up out of here, and bring me to my new palace. This kingdom isn't big enough for both the hens and me! Oh Lord, everybody look out! The ducks have the zoomies AGAIN! 🪿

Please note Lucy does not do well in a home with dogs or younger kids. She prefers a calmer environment, and excited dogs and kiddos make her anxious and unhappy. Included with the adoption is Lucy's spay, all applicable birth-to-one-year FVRCP, FeLeuk and first round of rabies vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, a wellness check, FIV/FeLV combo testing, and microchipping. In addition to being fully vetted, our cats and kittens are highly socialized. We offer a 2-week getting acquainted period and a 2-week wellness guarantee, so you can comfortably settle in with your new kitty!

We need a VERY special home for a VERY special boy...meet Qing!

Qing is a very sweet young boy, and what he lacks in legs he makes up for in endless love! He was found as a stray, dragging behind him an entirely useless leg. It was promptly amputated, and he has adjusted well to the 3-legged life. He is looking for his forever home, but exactly how long "forever" is remains uncertain for him - along the way, we discovered that Qing is positive for Feline Leukemia, a virus that runs a completely unpredictable course. The only thing we can say for certain is that he is *progressively* infected. A progressive FeLV infection means that he is more likely to become ill at some point.

But Qing is a lover boy like you've never seen. He is an expert biscuit maker and loves belly rubs and chin scritches. He's got such a zest for life and loves crash landing into his various toys. When you adopt Qing, you will receive a wonderfully socialized gentleman who comes neutered and fully vaccinated, and you will also receive his special mouse that he continuously loses underneath things, and then cries for help after. Adopting Qing is a commitment to however long he may or may not have, and a commitment to always helping him find his mousey.

Qing will need to go to an only cat household, or a household with other FeLV+ cats. We also cannot state whether or not he is okay with other cats, or dogs. Although his foster home has both, he cannot interact with the rest of that household as FeLV spreads easily via saliva.

On the 12th day of Christmas (and last day of the year) our true love brought to us the expressive Kona.

Despite having concerned eyes this girl is gloriously sweet. She'll wrap her tail around your arm when held. She's playful and independent but happy to come tell you when she is ready for her cuddle time.

On the eleventh day of Christmas our true love brought us an Olivia just a few days late.

This beautiful Torbie (Torti and Tabby) girl has been with us since MAY!! This sweet girl is good with dogs(!!!) but doesn't feel the need for a companion animal and will leave them alone. She loves to watch what you are up to before getting involved herself. She wants all your love and attention, but on her terms. She doesn't show well at events because she doesn't like to be picked up but does enjoy her pets and ear rubs on her terms.

On the tenth day of Christmas our true love gave to us a brother from another mother.

Penny had 4 brothers (Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, and Raj-yes the whole Big Bang crew together again) who have since found their forever homes while she and Zack wait patiently for their chance. In their time together they have come to depend on each other and would be happiest to spend the rest of their lives together. Zack, with the coloring of a Van, can be shy but is willing to be bribed with some snacks and playtime while Penny prefers to curl up for a good cuddle.

UPDATE 4: after Zuzu arrived at her foster home, she went into post-surgical shock. She was rushed to Care Center Dayton in critical condition. The veterinarian and staff were able to stabilize her and she has been admitted for an overnight stay. Of course, an overnight stay and testing is expensive - $1600 to $2000. Please donate if you can! Thank you to everyone who has already contributed!

UPDATE 3: Zuzu came through surgery well and will be picked up shortly. We are still $1600 short on donations to cover the bill. Please donate if you can!

Also, we are seeking an experienced foster, preferably associated with a rescue or shelter, who is capable of both supplemental feeding the newborns and reintroduced Zuzu and her kittens. If she cannot or will not care for them, the kittens will need full-time bottle feeding. If such a foster cannot be found, she will remain apart from her babies, and we know she misses them. UPDATE 2: Zuzu is being prepped for surgery. A generous donor (Jennifer M. Brown) has contributed $1000, and other late-night donors have contributed $95, but we are still in need off over $2000. Please share! Make this Christmas Miracle happen!

UPDATE: Zuzu is on her way to VEG in Cincinnati for emergency surgery. She has retained kittens.

This poor, starved cat was pregnant with more than 6 kittens! Please help us save her! We need donations!

We are hoping for a Christmas Miracle!

Poor Zuzu is the mother of 6 newborns, but is so weak she cannot feed them or care for herself. She needs emergency veterinary care!

Zuzu is a friendly kitty from an outdoor colony. Unfortunately, she is malnourished - skin and bones - and ill. She started showing symptoms last week, when a friendly neighbor took her in and started treating her. Unfortunately, she is in such a weakened state that she could not give birth without assistance. She is not eating on her own and cannot care for her kittens. (The kittens are with an experienced bottle feeder.)

We are hoping for a miracle - we are hoping she can be saved and reunited with her kittens. We need your help!

This little foster kitten, Oriana, is well taken care of by the older cats. Do you think she knows that under her tabby stripes she is a half Siamese. Her mother is a beautiful seal-point Siamese. “Baby Bindi” (Bindigo) would love to be your certified food tasting inspector! She even allows being cradled like a baby because she is so obsessed with human food. It’s her thing. (Except cold foods like yogurt and ice cream, bleh!) Bindi is the remaining kitten from a litter of five. She survived a terrible URI and needed to use a nebulizer three times a day until she could breathe through her nose again. She’s an independent and low maintenance kitten, doesn’t run from older kids and is great with other cats and even calm dogs. She enjoys naps at the tippy top of a cat tree, playing with automated toys and makes an excellent bug hunter! She prefers to sit next to you or on your feet versus being held, but we think she will become more snuggly once she is separated from her mom, Brisbane.
