It has been a week of grieving and reflection, and we are still processing that we said goodbye to our sweet Stella last Friday evening 🖤🌈💖

If you’re reading this, you know me well enough to know that Stella was my best friend, and became Tyler & Hank’s too. She made the move to Florida with me from Virginia 13 years ago as a tiny rescue puppy. Most of you have met her, or lovingly cared for her, and know what a special, sweet and funny girl she was.

I will always remember the moment we arrived in Sarasota, and drove over the Ringling bridge together for the first time. We made it in time for a gorgeous sunset, just like the one she left us under. In between those moments, she made so many friends, both human and four legged, and traveled with me up and down the east coast many times. We had SO many adventures together and she was by my side during some of the most significant milestones in my life. We both needed each other at the same time, and taught each other so much, and I am forever grateful for her love, loyalty and sassy personality, that continued to grow with age ☺️

She was a happy girl, giving Hank a run for his money most days, but began to slow down earlier this year, as to be expected. Last week she showed intermittent, yet obvious signs of discomfort, that couldn’t be cured, and we made the tough decision to let her fly on with dignity. Stella-Bean went out on a high note, after a few days of doing, and eating, all of her favorite things 💖 We said goodbye in her favorite spot in “her” backyard, in our arms, under a cotton candy sky, with the compassionate care of Vets to You 🙏🏼

Our hearts are hurting, but we know it was time for our little angel to fly 🦋 We are forever grateful for those who loved and cared for her, and for the amazing team of angels, Vets To You, who allowed us to have a beautiful and peaceful goodbye that she deserved.

We miss and love you so much Bean, but know that you are okay, and watching over us.

Please help this animal shelter keep its doors open. They work very hard but had more animals coming in than being adopted and donations have slowed down so they are now not able to take any new animals in. Every little bit helps and so does every share. Thank you!

Sarasota friends, is an amazing local shelter with wonderful adoptable animals and amazing staff and volunteers 🫶🏼 Volunteering is another great option if you’d like to have a pet, but understand your lifestyle doesn’t align with the commitment.

Hank is feeling left out of this, but I just reminded him that he has his own instagram page that he hasn’t been keeping up with 😌🧡

Stella doesn’t have time for social media since she’s too busy 🦎 hunting or napping.
