Sewing for the 2024 Rocky Mountain Reining Horse Association 's Summer Slide is officially done! Wrapped up with sheets and blankets for the Stallion Stakes Futurity!

The RMRHA Stallion Stakes is an awesome program! Breeders nominate their stallions by donating a breeding, the breedings are sold through the Stallion Stakes auction each January. The resulting offspring are eligible to compete in the Summer Slide Stallion Stakes Futurity as 3 yr olds and the Columbine Classic Stallion Stakes Derby as 4, 5 and 6 and 7yr olds. The Stallion Stakes Futurity and Derby have their own prize money and fabulous prizes!

On June 8th, 2024 a tragic barn fire in Ohio devastated the training operations of Brandon & Cathy Brant and Eric Priest. Eric was injured trying to rescue horses from the fire. It took the lives of more than 40 beloved horses and some pets. The barn was a total loss, including the majority of their tack and equipment. Employees lost all of their personal belongings from their barn apartments. The horse community has rallied to help support those effected by the fire. Starting tomorrow and running through the 26th, there will be an online benefit auction. There are a wide range of items available: stallion and breeding services, training, lessons, art, jewelry, photography sessions, clothing and more. Ariel is a trainer and coach and all around cool chick!
I connected with her through the horse world and she quickly became one of my favorite customers, and favorite people! We started with hats, hoodies and jackets for her Hug Performance Horses. And from there, she recommended me to her students from the Mile High Equestrians Interscholastic Equestrian Association Team and the Colorado State University Equestrian Team. She recently joined the CrossDraw Ranch team and we added new gear with their logo.
I am so thankful for her support! She is someone I can always count on to have my back. And someone I can always talk to about the ups and downs of being a woman out there hustling to run a business. 💕😎

I met Ryan and Jenn Thorson of Olde Towne Heating and Air Conditioning through a local networking event in 2015! They were just starting out with their own HVAC company. Jenn picked up one of my goodie bags with my business card and some Tootsie Rolls and the rest is history! I saw Jenn yesterday and we reminiscing about how long we've been working together. I have watched their family and their business grow up! So happy for their success and thankful for their continued support of my business!

Another connection from the horse world, Kim Basterrechea Davis reached out to me about doing caps for her service station/truck stop/trailer sales business in Washington. We started with a photo of a specific semi and created the design from there. We made a few changes and done a lot of different colors over the years, I think all of them have turned out really cool. A fresh batch will be arriving at the store soon! Thanks to Kim and Storey's for their business!

In 2017 one of Cody's clients, Christina Haxton, reached out to me about getting started with some embroidered No Where But Up gear. That fall we did a few jackets and hats for his group that was going to the Appaloosa and Quarter Horse World shows. From there, our relationship took off and we have done world show team gear every year since 2017! Plus hundreds of caps, jackets, vests, hoodies, sheets, blankets, and stall bags throughout the years. Their team has grown and had so much success! From a leased barn and designs drawn on the back of of old envelopes, to a beautiful new facility of their own and fancy graphic designs. Through them, I have seen my work in Horse and Rider magazine, video interviews, Facebook and Instagram posts and countless win pictures. I have met so many people and made so many connections through the NWBUP Team. I owe a huge Thank You to the whole NWBUP Crew, both personally and professionally! You all are the best! NO WHERE BUT UP!

I have been a member of RMRHA and competed in Reining since 2001, attending shows throughout Colorado and surrounding states. In 2016, the RMRHA prize coordinator, Teena Foushee, contacted me about embroidering a few last minute prizes for The Columbine Classic. Those prizes lead to taking on all the prize embroidery work for both the Columbine Classic and the Summer Slide. Teena's help also led to Blue Dog Threads becoming the official provider for embroidered RMRHA logo wear. Teena handed over the awards program reins to Tracey Brose and we continue to work together to create great prizes. I've also had the opportunity to work with Dori Schwartzenberger and Susan Harding on embroidery for volunteer gifts and RMRHA Year End Awards. Reining and RMRHA have been a huge part of my life. So to be able to bring together my work and my passion for horses has been a true blessing! Thanks to RMRHA!
