We had week 6 of the experimental Golden Hour distraction and manners class today. Graduation moments included cupcakes for the humans and pupcakes for the dogs. Food, proximity, and self control achieved!

Not sure what class to do next with your dog?

Canine fitness is starting Sunday August 14th at 4:30pm. This class is great for both young and older dogs looking to improve confidence and prevent injury. It's not appropriate for any dog currently recovering from an injury. A wonderful bonding opportunity while learning skills to keep your dog fit and a good gateway into dog sports.

CGC/Therapy Dog is also starting Monday August 15th at 7:30pm. This class is a great next step after beginner obedience. Week six we will test for the CGC certification with AKC. This class will also give you the skills to prepare for future therapy dog testing.

Congratulations to all of our new AKC Canine Good Citizen graduates! Some of these graduates will be continuing onto our therapy dog program while others check out agility or rally. It's been a pleasure to work with all of these dogs and their families!

OMG! We're in Virginia! Just a reminder from Onyx that Rachel and Mandy are away for a workshop so no classes Sunday the 6th or Monday the 7th! Classes resume normally Tuesday, we'll see you soon and look forward to bringing back what we learned!

Certainly not the post we were hoping to start the new year with!

Attention all students of Best Friends: due to the continuing nature of the pandemic and current uptick in COVID cases masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, at all times while inside the building. This includes while running/training dogs. We will continue to monitor and adjust policies as the year progresses. We want everyone to play and be safe so wear your mask correctly!
