This is Rumer Emerson and she’s straight from California! Rue is one of our newer paralyzed Frenchie additions to the High Plains PAW family. She got to experience snow for the first time the other day complete with a cozy sweater and one of her fashionable diaper skirts. Rumer suffers from IVDD. This is a condition caused by Degenerative Disc Disease. In Rue’s case it has caused her hind legs to be paralyzed and she’s incontinent. This means she scoots, uses a wheelchair and wears diapers! I’m not saying that cat lives dont matter but if they mean that much to you KEEP THEM INSIDE. Anyway the OWNER reached out. This dog is a victim of a breakup. The ex boyfriend said he would keep her until the owner(Alexa) got a place with a yard that she could have her. This dog grew up with Alexa’s children, other dogs and even inside kittens without ANY ISSUES… EVER. On Feb 9th Alexa was tagged in a post by a friend. It was Marley, her 2 year old dog, at Wichita Animal Control facing death the same day. She freaked out, obvious, she called Animal control to find out that Marley had been left outside one day and got bored and jumped the fence. In the alley apparently there was a confrontation with a cat and the cats owner said they “tried to stop it” but who knows. Then right across the alley from the house is a warehouse that stays open 24/7, she rand over there l, likely for cover and security and apparently she killed another cat, however there is a bit of confusion on the 2nd cat. The cats owner called Animal Control and they came and picked her up. She is now deemed a “PDD” for killing a cat in an alley and perhaps another by the warehouse. Alexa is completely devastated because now, due to the PDD distinction, her current landlord won’t allow her to even temp house her, in order to save her family member that she trusted was safe.
