Well, I know for a fact, that they do. I once took a 2 ½ week vacation, leaving my two cats in the care of my family. As far as making certain that my cats had food, water, and fresh kitty litter daily, my family was reliable. However, when I returned home to two clingy cats! , was companionship. After two weeks of emotional eating, my girl cat had gained several ounces and is now, officially, a fat cat! My older, independent, male cat had grown destructively clingy; I could not take one step without him following along beside me. For future travel, what mine, and your pets, need is a daily companion. Someone that can be trusted to come into our homes and spend at least an hour, or two, daily loving our pets and providing them with a level of attention that will keep loneliness at bay.
