No matter what holiday you enjoy, today is one all equestrians celebrate. Happy winter solstice! Today is the shortest day of the year. We've made it! Tomorrow will be brighter and longer (and colder, yes).
Happy Winter Solstice, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year.❤️

And just like that, 6 years have flown by. Thankful for the opportunity to work with these magnificent animals and so grateful for all of the people I have met along the way!
Tonight, Blue Horse Massage & Wellness, LLC handed over the reins. I am feeling "all the feels" right now - excitement to meet so many new people and their beautiful horses, determination to provide the same amazing services Pamela has for the last 6 years, and gratitude to Pamela for her belief in me.
I will be sending out an introductory email shortly, and Pamela will be forwarding it as well (I'm having a touch of technical difficulties currently).
In the meantime, please feel free to introduce yourself, ask any questions of me , or schedule appointments either through Facebook or my personal email, [email protected].
Thank you, and happy Labor Day weekend!

A Little (ok, lengthy) History
Life is a series of twists and turns. Some are expected while many come out of nowhere. Through it all, horses have been the constant for me. The ground under my feet even if I don’t quite know where to place them.
(Note: I own a mare. She is anything but “constant,” but I appreciate the fact she is always happy to see me. Or the treats... but let’s pretend it’s me, ok?)
I caught the “horse bug” as a young child, as many of you have too. Much to my father’s dismay, I molded my life around my love for these animals. I graduated with a BS in Equine Science and Management from Delaware Valley University in 2011. It was here where I was first introduced to the benefits of equine bodywork. I then pursued an AAS in Veterinary Technology and gained my NYS license as a veterinary technician in 2014. In addition to many years in companion animal hospitals, I was lucky enough to gain experience in equine physical therapy through Thera-Vet Acres in Webster, NY. It was through here that I obtained my certification in Equine Sports Massage Therapy through Equissage in 2015. My appreciation for the Horse grew here and will forever change the way I view them. They are not simply a pet; they are athletes and deserve to be treated as such.
Life hit me in the summer of 2017. I ventured from Thera-Vet to “sort my life out.” (If you ever want to feel miserable, try leaving the job you love for something you don’t.) I then realized a non-horse life just wasn’t for me. I was once again lucky enough to be offered a position with Genesee Valley Equine Clinic. Here I continue honing my equine medical skills and continue learning about the phenomenal equine body.
I have continually massaged horses since my certification. I never intended on making much of a business out of it, but I always enjoyed being able to help a horse and their owner feel better. As the years progressed, I saw it wasn’t merely making the horse “feel good.” I have developed a trust with these horses and their wonderful owners, and can help to bring out the best in their beloved athletes.
In the summer of 2018, Pamela Rossman-Bray of Blue Horse Massage and Wellness approached me about starting my own business. After years of helping numerous horses in the Rochester area, Pamela sadly was relocating and looking to aid in ensuring continued care for her beloved clients and their owners.
I am thrilled to be starting on this new adventure. I chose the name “Balanced Strides” as I was looking for something that encompasses my view on equine bodywork. Yes, there is the literal meaning behind the term “balanced strides,” and massage can help achieve this. I also feel that equine well-being is ensured through a balance of veterinary care, training, nutrition, and of course, equine bodywork.
I so look forward to meeting you and your equine partner.
