Want your business to be the top-listed Pet Store/pet Service?
Life is a series of twists and turns. Some are expected while many come out of nowhere. Through it all, horses have been the constant for me. The ground under my feet even if I don’t quite know where to place them.
(Note: I own a mare. She is anything but “constant,” but I appreciate the fact she is always happy to see me. Or the treats... but let’s pretend it’s me, ok?)
I caught the “horse bug” as a young child, as many of you have too. Much to my father’s dismay, I molded my life around my love for these animals. I graduated with a BS in Equine Science and Management from Delaware Valley University in 2011. It was here where I was first introduced to the benefits of equine bodywork. I then pursued an AAS in Veterinary Technology and gained my NYS license as a veterinary technician in 2014. In addition to many years in companion animal hospitals, I was lucky enough to gain experience in equine physical therapy through Thera-Vet Acres in Webster, NY. It was through here that I obtained my certification in Equine Sports Massage Therapy through Equissage in 2015. My appreciation for the Horse grew here and will forever change the way I view them. They are not simply a pet; they are athletes and deserve to be treated as such.
Life hit me in the summer of 2017. I ventured from Thera-Vet to “sort my life out.” (If you ever want to feel miserable, try leaving the job you love for something you don’t.) I then realized a non-horse life just wasn’t for me. I was once again lucky enough to be offered a position with Genesee Valley Equine Clinic. Here I continue honing my equine medical skills and continue learning about the phenomenal equine body.
