Our Story

United Hope for Animals is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization working to end homelessness among companion animals by supporting shelter adoptions and spay/neuter programs. Through our Shelter Support Program, our volunteers photograph and video shelter pets to increase their chances of adoption significantly. Our volunteer Adoption Coordinators help facilitate adoptions of shelter pets by members of the public. We also rescue companion animals from Los Angeles County shelters and place them in loving foster homes until they are adopted. You can read more about our diverse programs and how to support them through donations of time or other resources at www.hope4animals.org. Unless noted otherwise, pets featured on our page are available for adoption at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, 4275 Elton Street in Baldwin Park, CA. The shelter is open for adoptions Monday-Thursday 12-7 and Friday-Sunday 10-5 (closed state holidays). All adopters must appear in person to adopt. Their phone number is: (626) 962-3577. We recommend calling first to confirm the dog in which you are interested is still at the shelter.

However, we recommend you call our Adoption Coordinators listed at the bottom of every initial posting about a dog. (UHA is not associated with the Friends of the Baldwin Park Shelter page or the Baldwin Park Animal Care center itself.)
