Sugar and I had the most WONDERFUL visit at First City Recovery Wednesday morning. We were in the detox unit and it was a small group of clients. Sugar enjoyed the couches as usual, and she spent some time on one lady's lap a couple of times. She also spent some time with one of the guys on another couch as we went back and forth to see everyone. It was a shame I couldn't take pictures because I could have gotten some good ones, of some much needed love and hugs. A couple of the ladies told me that Sugar made their day and made them feel so good. They both expressed how much they enjoyed spending the time with her, and also with talking to me. We had hugs before we left, and I felt very good about the visit. I left there this morning with the feeling that "THIS is why we do what we do!" It was a much needed visit for ME too! A big thanks to my sweet Sugar for bringing such joy to the clients and to her mamma as well! Love my girl! 💙💙💙💙💙💙🐕💙💙💙💙💙💙

We had a real nice visit at Bloom on Tuesday and there was a lady from the Tribune who joined us to get pictures for the story they are doing about LOAL. Of course she got permission before doing so and she got lots of pictures of us with our pets "in action." Joining Sugar and I was Terri & Millie, Lisa & Molly, and Pam and Kipper. We visited the regular unit, and the memory care unit as well. We started outside with the regular residents unit, which was something we hadn't done before. (visiting OUTSIDE) It was very nice because it was a beautiful day! The pets all got lots of attention and it was an enjoyable time, as always, when we go to Bloom. Sugar was happy to see her handsome boyfriend Kipper too, and he even gave her a kiss! We believe there is something going on between those too! LOL The residents were happy to see our sweet little Molly the cat again, and Millie thrilled everyone with her precious, sweet smile! Good job to the teams who were able to go today! I appreciate you all so much! Here are the pictures I got of the visit, along with a few of Kipper & Sugar, and one of Molly that Pam sent me. Thanks Pam! 💙💙🐕💙🐕💙🐈‍⬛💙🐕💙

The visit at the library was awesome on Saturday! There were 5 handlers with their pets and they all did great! Kim, from the Tribune was there too. She observed us with the kids and parents and got permission from all of them to take pictures to use in the story she will be doing about LOAL in the Sept/Oct issue of the Heartland magazine. The teams in attendance were me & Sugar, Terri & Millie, Deborah & Toby, Lisa & Molly, and Pam & Ridge. Everyone did a great job and the animals got lots of attention. Here are the pictures of the visit.

To all who went to Howard Haven on Monday, Thanks for your patience in waiting for me to post about it. It was a good visit with 5 dogs and handlers in attendance. Joining Sugar and I was Deborah & Toby, Lisa & Zoey, Pam & Ridge, and Lana & Ali. We were having a nice visit with the residents, and not long after we got there, we noticed there was a yellow cat walking in to join us! We have never met the cat before but apparently, he lives there, and is outside a lot. A few of the dogs were very interested in the cat, and one of the workers there, took him and put him outside. Some of the dogs kept watching, and wondering where the cat went, but we continued to have a nice visit with the residents. Howard Haven is such a relaxing place to visit, and the residents always enjoy visiting with us and our pets. I have really grown to love some of these "regulars" who always come down to see us. One of the workers told us that the Kokomo Tribune called and talked to them about our visits there and that they sent them some pictures. The lady from the Tribune had told us that too, so I imagine Howard Haven will be mentioned in the article, which will be nice since it's a favorite.

We had a great visit at Brickyard on Thursday afternoon. There were 4 teams including me & Sugar, Deborah & Toby, Terri & Millie, and Lisa & Fiona. Lisa & Fiona had done their first 6 training visits in Lafayette with Pam, but came to do this one with us. It was so nice to meet beautiful Fiona, who is a 10 yr old Samoyed. She did good on the visit and enjoyed getting the attention. All the dogs did a good job as we visited the residents in both, the regular unit, and the memory care one. Here are the pictures of the visit.

A big THANK YOU to these teams for visiting at Aperion on Friday: Deborah & Toby, Terri & Millie, Lisa & Zoey, and Lana & Ali. I so appreciate you all taking care of this visit. Deborah sent me a text to say the visit went very well. I knew it would because you are all great teams! I enjoyed seeing the pictures that were sent to me by Deborah & Terri. Thanks to Deborah & Terri too, for supervising, to help our new dog teams get their training visits in. Looks like everyone enjoyed the visit. Sugar and I missed being with you all. Here are the pictures of the visit 💙🐕💙🐕💙🐕💙🐕💙

We had a real nice visit at First City Recovery Wednesday morning. Sugar and I were joined by Deborah & Toby and Peggy & Gracee. First, we went to the detox unit and the dogs got lots of love and attention. Then we went to the other unit, and it was the same there. It seemed like there were a lot of clients today and it was a rewarding visit as so many of them really enjoyed it.

We had another good visit Tuesday. This time it was at Bloom and we had 4 wonderful teams who visited with the residents. Deborah came, in case I needed her to supervise, but Toby stayed home because he wasn't feeling well. Praying our little guy is feeling better by now. 💙🙏Thanks Deborah for coming. Terri got her feet wet today in supervising Lisa, while Deborah went to visit a friend in the facility. Thanks Terri for doing this today. I appreciated it a lot! We had our newest team Lana and Ali with us too, and they did a really good job on their 2nd visit, while Zoey got her 3rd visit in with mom Lisa. Millie, looked cute as ever, and you'll see in the pics that I got a couple really good close-up pictures of her face! She is so sweet! All of the dogs enjoyed the attention, and Sugar got several comments about how pretty she is. Bloom has become a favorite place to visit as the residents all gather together, and we go to see them in 3 different areas, including a regular unit, and 2 memory care units. We see lots of people there, and get lots of smiles, which is so rewarding to us to see the joy that our animals bring. Here are the pictures I got of today's visit. The dogs were all wearing patriotic scarves to honor the 4th of July! 🇺🇸 ❤️🇺🇸🤍🇺🇸💙🇺🇸

We had a real nice visit at Howard Haven, and it was so nice to have 5 teams to visit the residents. Joining Sugar and I was Deborah & Toby, Lisa & Zoey, Katie & Honey and Elisabeth & Paisley. It was so good to see Katie & Honey and Elizabeth & Paisley again, as they haven't been able to join us for a while. The residents had a nice variety of dogs to love on and pet, and we handlers enjoyed visiting with them as well. Thanks to all of you who were able to come, and congrats to Zoey for getting her 2nd training visit in, with her mom Lisa. One of the residents even said Zoey was his favorite, so she did a good job in making a good impression on him. All of the dogs did a good job, and as always, I was happy to see them all too! Here are the pictures of the visit. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

We had a great visit at Brickyard Thursday afternoon. We spent time in the regular unit, and also went to the memory care unit to see the residents there. The dogs got a lot of attention as the residents were excited to see them all. There were 5 teams, including Me & Sugar, Deborah & Toby, Terri & Millie, Pam and Ridge, and Lisa & Zoey, who had her very first training visit. Zoey is a smaller sized, beautiful husky, and she is very sweet. She is new to the world of pet therapy and she did a good job on her very 1st visit! Of course we already know what a great handler Lisa is, so they make a good team! Ridge completed his 9th visit today too, so he is almost ready to send in paperwork for certification! Good job Pam and Ridge! Of course Toby, Millie, and Sugar all did a good job too. It was a great visit with 5 great teams! Thanks to all who came today. It was nice having such a good group! Here are the pictures of the visit.
