Sugar and I had a nice visit at Aperion on Thursday. We went into a room with quite a few residents and then we walked around for a little while and visited some of the other residents in their rooms too. I was tired when we left but it was a good tired. The residents in the nursing homes are some of the most appreciative, and they love it when we come. It makes it all worthwhile. When we first walked in the room where Judy had gathered several people, they all started singing the Sugar, Sugar song! (Which is also Honey's song! LOL) It was nice to see how happy they were to see us. Honey was asked about too, cuz she and Katie usually visit there with us, so I know they were missed! Knowing that we are making even just a small difference, in the lives of these needy people is a very rewarding experience. It's why we do what we do, and its a main focus of Love on a Leash; To bring love and comfort to those who need it. For anyone who hasn't visited in the nursing homes for a while, I would like to encourage you to consider trying it again. Visiting these kinds of places gives a rewarding feeling unlike anywhere else, and I love the joy it brings, not only to the residents, but to me as well. I talked to one man in his room today, who was really missing his dog, and when we walked into the room, he was sitting on a small couch, and for those who know Sugar, you know what happened next! LOL She was on the couch with him and we stayed a little while as he enjoyed, petting her and telling me about his dogs thru the years. It was an enjoyable time for both, the resident and me, and my "Lassie" dog, who is such a couch potato! LOL πππ Here some pictures I took while we were there.
