Sorry I am so late in posting this, but we had a good visit at Aperion on Friday. Sugar and I were joined by Deborah & our little guy Toby, and Lisa and her dog, Elroy, who is very fluffy and handsome. Lisa and Elroy got their 2nd visit in as a team in training. The residents enjoyed the dogs, as well as some of the staff members and we saw a lot of smiles. Thanks ladies, for joining us to bring joy to our friends at Aperion. Here are the pictures of our visit.

Sugar and Millie had a great visit with the clients at First City Recovery on Wednesday. They took us around to the different areas this time instead of keeping us in the detox the whole time, and the dogs were a big hit with everyone there. Several people thanked us for bringing them in, and Terri and Millie got their 7th visit in! They only have 3 more to go until they can send in their paperwork for certification. They are a great team that I am so grateful to have in our chapter. Before the visit started, our sweet Vicki stopped by to say hello, and it was SO GOOD to see and (((Hug))) her! Thanks for stopping by Vicki. It is always great to see you, and we hope you will be able to join us again soon, as we miss you!!! The same is true with others who have had losses, as we miss ALL of you, and hope you can return with another pet, when you feel ready. Several of the clients asked about several of you who have visited there before too, so just know you are all missed by many......As you all know, the recovery center doesn't allow us to take pictures with the clients, but Terri and I got a few pictures in the lobby after the visit was over. Here are the.pictures we got of us with the dogs.πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™

We had a GREAT visit at Bloom. Joining Sugar & I were Katie & Honey, Deborah & Toby, Terri & Millie, and Lisa came over with her dog Elroy for his very 1st visit with us! Congrats Lisa and Elroy on completing your 1st visit together as a team! Lisa said she will still bring Molly to visit with us, but just wanted to start her dog Elroy with LOAL too! It was so nice to meet him! He is a handsome keeshund and was very sweet. We visited the regular.unit and then the memory care unit as well. There are always lots of residents in the memory care unit and it is always a rewarding place to go. Here are the pictures of the visit. Good job teams!

We had an AWESOME visit at the library on Saturday! Sugar and I were joined by Katie & Honey, Deborah & Toby, and Lisa and Molly drove over to be with us too! It was so great to have a cat with us at the library again and I think Molly enjoyed herself meeting new friends and exploring the library. Of course the cat lovers were thrilled to see her too! The dogs also got a lot of attention, and the attendance was one of best Ive ever seen at the library. There was another event going on too, so a lot of people came from that, to see us as well. The librarian gave me a clicker to click when ever a new person came and we ended up with 40 counting the 4 of us. We handed out pictures and stickers of our pets and it was such an enjoyable time. Here are the pictures from the visit.

We had a nice visit at Colonial Oaks nursing home in Marion IN. Joining Sugar and I was Deborah & Toby and Terri & Millie. Terri and Millie completed their 5th training visit, so they are moving right along, and are already HALF way there, to completing the required 10 hours, and they are a GREAT team! CONGRATS Terri and Millie! πŸ’™πŸ’™ The residents AND the staff at Colonial Oaks were so excited to have us, and the dogs got lots of attention and brought smiles to many. We went there to visit a lady from mine and Deborah's church, and then we walked around and visited lots of other residents and staff members too. We even had the opportunity to pray with 3 of the residents, who really appreciated it. We got lots of thanks from everyone and was told to come back any time. It took us approx 40 minutes to get there so it took some time, but it was worth the trip. I took a LOAL introduction letter, a LOAL brochure, and my business card to let them know more about us, and give them a contact person, in case they would like for us to return. A big THANKS to Deborah for taking these pictures, because I had left my phone in the car! Before we left town, the other ladies mentioned having their shot records, and I had forgotton to include mine with everything else, so we took a little detour and went back to my house so I could pick them up. Thank God we all work together as a team to do what we do! Thanks ladies! Here are the pictures of the visit.

A Big THANKS to Deborah and Toby for doing the visit at Howard Haven Monday. They were the only team who was able to go, but Deborah told me that Toby enjoyed getting all of the attention, pats, hugs, and love. She said he took turns sitting on everyone's lap, and as always, it was a calm, relaxing visit. Here are the pictures of the visit she sent me. Thanks again Deborah!

After the visit at Bloom was over, Lynne and Vicki joined us to get their memory blankets that we all chipped in to get them after the loss of Itsy Bitsy Baby, Scout, and Gracie. It was so good to see them both. Tears were shed, and lots of love was shared between all of us. Vicki and Lynne also got to meet our newest team in training, and we all had a nice visit together. Vicki even brought her new little dog, Itty Bitty to meet us. We are all hoping she will eventually be ready to join us in the group too. I also shared with Lynne that we would love for her to eventually join us again with another dog too. These two ladies have been with us for quite some time, and I really miss them. Here are the pictures I took of our little visit with them after the regular visit, and giving them their memorial blankets. We also had a couple residents stop by to do some petting while we were in the lobby........ For those who havent seen it, I am also including pictures of the blanket I got from the group after I lost my heart dog Sweet Pea. Mine was a little different in the fact that it also has one huge picture of Sweet Pea on the other side. I love my blanket so much, as well as another one that Bob got me, and that is what gave me the idea to get them when another pet is lost. Lynne and Vicki, we love and miss you so much on our visits, and hope you will both be able to join us again when you feel ready! πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

We did have a good visit at Bloom on Tuesday and it was the most we've had at a visit for a while. There were 6 of us, which made it all the more fun! The pets were all dressed in their Valentine attire and they all looked adorable! Joining Sugar & I was Katie & Honey, Deborah & Toby, Peggy & Gracee, Lisa & Molly, and Terri & Millie. The residents sure enjoyed having such a wide variety of pets to love on, and the pets enjoyed the attention. This has become a favorite place to visit, as we get to visit on the regular unit, AND on the memory care unit. There are lots of residents, so it is a rewarding place to go. Here are the pictures of our visit. Thanks to all who were able to come. πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ’™πŸ•πŸ’™πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ’™

Deborah and I had a nice visit at the library Saturday with Toby and Sugar. A few of the kids did some reading and some just came to pet the dogs. There were a few adults who enjoyed the dogs too. We handed out Valentines and stickers and some little bottle of bubbles with hearts on them, for Valentine's Day. The kids.really enjoyed it and so did we! Peggy stopped by too, and it was nice to see her too. Here are the pictures of the visit. β™₯️🩷β™₯️🩷β™₯️🩷β™₯️🩷β™₯️🩷β™₯️🩷β™₯️🩷β™₯️

I would like to offer another CONGRATULATIONS to our newest team in training, Terri and little Millie, for completing their very first visit Wednesday! Since I knew Terri was excited to get started, I asked her if she would like to go with me to see my aunt and she said she did! We met at Brickyard at 3:00 and got the paperwork done first, and then went visiting! Sugar loved her new little friend Millie, and they had a great visit together. We visited my Aunt Penny as well as many other residents too. For those who know my aunt, pls continue to keep her in your prayers as she continues to decline. πŸ™πŸ˜ͺ The great thing about this visit is that little Millie is a natural at it! Her Mom Terri is pretty good too, so I believe they are going to be another great team for our chapter! Millie loves attention and everyone agreed that she is absolutely ADORABLE!!!. I also appreciated Terri's friendliness to the residents and how.easy she is to work with! I am excited about this team, and am so thankful that they have found us! Millie and Sugar brought lots of smiles and it was such a nice time today. For those who have visited there, you know there is a married couple and they esp.loved our visit and the gentleman insisted that Sugar get on his lap! I told her she was too big but he wanted her so bad! He was covered in blankets so I granted his wish, and she gently settled on his lap where he wanted her.. He was in heaven, and even wanted me to leave her there with him! At the same time, little Millie was on the wife's lap, and she too was very happy. They told us we made their day, so we accomplished what we set out to do! This couple is precious and those of us who have visited them, just love them! I told Terri and Millie that they did an awesome job on their first visit, and I look forward to having many more visits with them! Sorry this is so long, but the visit was SO GOOD that I had a lot to say! LOL Here are the pictures of the visit. Terri, I hope you and Millie enjoyed the visit as much as Sugar and I did!

Sugar & I and Deborah & Toby had a nice visit Monday at Howard Haven. We also had a nice surprise when towards the end of the visit, Vicki stopped in to say hi. She was going by on her way home and saw my car so she stopped in. It was so nice to see her and I think she enjoyed seeing us and the residents who she used to see there with us. It was a very small group of residents and staff so it was nice and quiet. Howard Haven has always been a relaxing place to visit, and today was no exception. Here are the pictures from the visit. Thanks for stopping to say hi to us and the residents on your way home Vicki. It was so good to see you! πŸ’™πŸ’™

Thursday was an emotional visit at Brickyard and I want to say a big THANK YOU to Deborah & Toby and Lisa & Molly for being there with me and Sugar. When we first got there, a staff member told us that there was a man who REALLY LOVES cats and she went to get him before we could get to his room. When he came down the hall to see us he even had a cat shirt on! He LOVED Molly so much and really enjoyed visiting with her. Then we went down the hall and talked to a lady who told us she was having some serious health issues so we had the opportunity to pray with her. She really appreciated our prayers and thanked us. Then we went to visit my Aunt Penny. She really enjoyed the pets, but then got very tearful and we all just pulled up a chair and sat with her. Sugar had worn a snowman headband, and we all took turns putting it on and it gave my Aunt a few smiles, which was nice to see. Thanks ladies for being so willing to help her smile. After a time, we went down to see a dear, old friend of mine, but when we got to her room, it was empty! I had a sick feeling and sure enough, another resident (who used to be her room-mate but was recently moved to another room) told us that my friend had passed away just Monday morning. I felt so sad but was glad we found out. Her obit was in the paper today and her funeral is Sat., so I will be going. It was such a weird feeling to go find that room empty! πŸ˜•πŸ˜ͺ We visited a few more people and one of them was a newer resident and she was SO EXCITED to see our pets so it was another moment of happiness for this different, emotional visit. Thanks again to Deborah and Lisa for being there with me. They were both very loving and caring thru the whole visit and were very supportive to me when I discovered the loss of my dear friend. Pet therapy is very rewarding but can also be very sad in some situations, and I am so grateful for all the good rewarding times, that far outweigh the few bad ones. I love being a part of this wonderful organization. Thank you Love on a Leash, and all who are a part of our chapter. We are small in number, but BIG in LOVE! Here are the pictures of our visit today.

We had a quiet visit Friday at Aperion. There were a lot of people napping and we saw several rooms empty. Joining me & Shelbie was Katie & Honey and Deborah & Toby. Those who were awake and up for a visit, enjoyed seeing and petting the dogs. I took the pet stroller but Shelbie wanted out of it so she and Toby took turns using it, and Toby enjoyed it and used it more than Shelbie did. Of course the activity director Judy, enjoyed the dogs as always, and so did some of the other staff members. Here are the pictures of the visit. I forgot to get the camera out till we were half way thru the visit so there arent as many pictures as there are on some posts. Thanks to Katie and Deborah for going out on such a snowy day! β„οΈπŸŒ¬β„οΈπŸŒ¬β„οΈπŸŒ¬β„οΈ
