Due to the overwhelming amount of requests we receive, it is impossible for us to respond to each application personally, as we are limited

ADOPT ME!!
Violet is an almost 4 month old puppy looking for her forever family. She is a smart and playful girl, a bit shy at first, but warms up very quickly. She has been very good at entertaining herself with puppy toys and chewing bones. She loves other dogs, but having another one in the household isn't necessary. She is crate trained (sleeps easily through the night with no issues) and paper trained (uses puppy pads when in the house), nearly housebroken and can use a doggie door.

Violet has been available for adoption for two months and has not received a single adoption application. She's so ready to find her forever family and start living her happily ever after!!

Heck yeah, Tucumcari & Quay County!! 198 pets fixed, vaccinated, and chipped — and we've still got one more day to go! 🐾💪

THANK YOU to everyone who showed up and waited so patiently, especially with all those nervous pups at check-in. You are absolutely amazing, and we're so grateful for this community's support!

Huge shout out to Paws and Claws of Quay County for all their hard work making this clinic happen... AND to the City of Tucumcari for their incredibly generous contribution to keep costs affordable for everyone. You're so lucky to have city leaders stepping up to help tackle overpopulation!

We're aiming to be back May 16, 17, 18 — stay tuned!

UPDATE: ADOPTION PENDING!
I'm around 4 months old, and I'll grow up to be a large boy. I'm a German Shepard Mix, with a lot of sweetness and smarts. I will do really well with positive reinforcement training, and I'd love a family who will take my training to the next level! I'm eager to please, but also shy to start. I'm slow to open up to new people, but once we get to know each other, I keep you company like your shadow. I'm very calm for a puppy, and I am pretty good at taking it easy. While my foster mom works from home, I entertain myself with my toys and chews, and snuggle into my dog bed. Don't let my calm demeanor fool you, I also enjoy getting to play with other playful dogs, and have a game of tug of war or fetch. I'm doing fantastic with potty training; I've learned the word 'potty' and can almost go on demand! I will need a house with a yard, and a family who is home often or throughout the day. Another playful dog would be awesome too! But mostly, I want to find the person that will love for me to be their shadow.

Hi I'm Jewel! I'm a very sweet girl who came to Colorado from a New Mexico shelter with my four puppies. I've been a good mama, and now I'm ready to find my forever family. Are you looking for a perfect petite sized fur baby? That's me! I've got an adorable nub tail that wiggles too. I sleep well in my crate at night, am house trained, and am a pretty quiet, easy girl. I've gotten along well the the other dogs in my foster home. I'd enjoy having a backyard, as I like to lay in the sunshine and stalk squirrels and birds. I'm a little shy at first when meeting new people, but warm up quickly. I'd love a family with lots of love to give to allow me to fully blossom into enjoying a dogs life.

Sweet small lab mix Ravioli (aka "Ravi") is a supreme sofa snuggler. This 7 month old pup only weighs 29 pounds. She loves people and is excellent with other dogs, kids and even the cats in her foster home. Ravi loves to play with her foster dog siblings. Ravi thinks toys are a new and lovely delight. Ravi sleeps quietly in a crate at night and is just such a good girl. She is spayed, fully vaxed for the coming year, chipped, and house trained with the dog door. Ravi is a great puppy with a very pretty face. Her sweet disposition and lean slender size makes her the perfect hiking companion. Ravi is being fostered in Arvada, CO. MISSING IN DENVER!!
Babitha was just adopted yesterday. She escaped her adopter tonight and is dragging a purple leash.
Please keep an eye out in the area of Hudson St and E 22nd Ave in the South Park Hill neighborhood of Denver. If spotted, note location, take a photo if possible and text or call (number removed - dog found).

IMPORTANT: DO NOT CHASE OR CALL OUT TO BABITHA!! It is extremely important that no one try to approach her. She is in flight mode and we do not want to drive her further from the area. Her foster mom is heading to the area to help in the search. And, we will work to set traps.

ADOPT ME!!
Boots and Mary are two adorable, 3-month old, brindle pups available for adoption (separately) near Grand Junction, CO.

Boots
Boots will be on the small side, approximately 30 lbs when grown. He could be a chihuahua/terrier mix. His adventurous spirit shines through as he eagerly investigates every corner of the yard, his curly tail wagging with enthusiasm. He is happiest napping in your lap but will search out the sun to soak up the warmth.

Boots' encounters with the resident cats are marked by a gentle curiosity but he mostly ignores them. Boots has seamlessly integrated with the larger dogs in the household, respecting their boundaries while indicating he would like to play.

Mary
With her beautiful, brindle coloring and facial markings, Mary is just stunning. She will be a small to medium sized dog. She's feisty, standing her ground with confidence against the larger dogs in the household and she loves to play. She is super smart; she responds promptly to her name, running to you with her wagging tail. Mary loves to be outside hanging with the big dogs, exploring but is just as content to snuggle on your lap. She loves to find the wamth of the sun for her daily naps. Her interactions with cats are marked by a natural curiosity, yet she is gentle and shows no signs of aggression. Mary is progressing with potty training and will go to the door when she needs to go out.

Boots and Mary are neutered/spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. They are both crate trained and currently sleeping 7 hours/night without accidents. These cuties are currently being fostered near Grand Junction, CO but arrangements can be made for adoptions outside of the area. Interested in learning more about them or arranging a meet-and-greet? ADOPT ME!!
Pecan Mocha Brownie is a very easy-going, sweet girl. She is estimated to be 1.5 to 2 years old and she weighs 60 pounds. She is very dog friendly and hasn't met a dog she hasn't liked. She loves people and will happily greet everyone and wag her tail. For her size she's actually a very gentle soul. She walks nicely on a leash.

Brownie hops up into and rides quietly in the car. She went on a 4-hour road trip with her new fosters and just laid down and looked out the window or took a nap. She loves to snuggle and cuddle and is happy to lay with her head in your lap. She will go in the crate and sleep, but prefers the family bed when allowed.

Brownie is potty trained and uses the doggie door. She knows "Sit" and a few basic commands. She has shown no resource guarding over toys or food and has played nicely with a small foster puppy. If she's playing outdoors in snowy/cold weather, she'd do best with a jacket on due to her short coat.

If you are looking for an active buddy, who will also chill out and just hang with you, Brownie is your girl! She would love to have a dog buddy to play with, but would be fine as an only dog too. Her previous fosters said she is cat friendly, but that hasn't been tested with her current foster yet. If someone needs her cat tested, we have the ability to do so.

ADOPT ME!!
Pennie is a beautiful, calm, and sweet 2.5yo adult shepherd and likely cattledog mix. She is from a shelter in Gallup, NM. Pennie is full grown at about 50 lbs. She has a luxurious coat, a superthick tail, and she will offer a paw to shake to greet a new human fren or just to signal that she'd like some attention or a hug.

Pennie is house trained, crate trained, dog-door trained, and she walks very nicely on leash. Pennie has a mature personality but is also still very playful and energetic at times. She loves people and wants to meet and say hi to everyone.

Pennie would be an ideal companion animal for an active owner or family, as she loves goes for daily walks or adventures. She is also well insulated and loves the snow/cold, so she would appreciate being active with her people all year round in Colorado! Pennie is friendly to other dogs and are currently living in a home with three other dogs, male and female, from 19 lbs to 65 lbs in size. She has been to dog parks and does great meeting and playing with new dogs.

The foster home she's in doesn't have any resident cats, but her foster humans think Pennie could live with cats, based on her chill behavior seeing cats loose inside a small pet supply store she visited recently.

Do you have a toy box that's been neglected for too long?? Geri would LOVE to help remedy that!

Geri is an approximately 4-month old, female, mixed breed pup who is equal parts adventure partner, snuggle buddy and goofball. She is a quick learner and eager during training time! Geri already knows how to sit and is working on "lay down".

Geri loves playing with other dogs and meeting new people. She also loves snuggling and being with her people! When she's tired, she'll bury herself under her foster's blanket and cuddle up. She makes fast friends with everyone she's met, even kids! Geri is very brave in new environments and doesn't get startled easily. She's visited a brewery, the local fire station, and Lowe's, and has done great on every field trip!

Geri hasn't shown any signs of resource guarding and happily shares her toys, treats, and kennel! She's currently fostered with two adult dogs and another puppy, and does great with everyone. When other dogs don't want to play with her, she's happy to entertain herself with toys. She isn't destructive and doesn't chew on things that aren't hers.

She has been doing great with potty training and kennel training. She also has been sleeping silently through the night!

Geri has joined in on some short hikes and will be a great hiking partner! She also has a great natural off-button and can relax when she needs to.

She was very cooperative for her bath and nail trim and doesn't get sick or whine in the car! Geri could be happy as an only dog or living with other dogs. She has also lived with cats and did great with them too!

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!
Honey is a smart, fun, people-pleaser, estimated 1 yr old, cattledog mix. She was in the shelter in Gallup, NM, for three months—from mid-Oct 2024 to Jan 09 2025—before she was transferred to foster care in Longmont, Colorado.

Honey is full grown at about 40 lbs, has a youthful, "silly girl" personality, wiggle-wags her stumpy tail furiously when she's happy or excited, and she rolls over to show you her belly for pets or scratchies (or during play, demonstrating her submissive nature). And of course Honey has the most amazing ice-blue eyes to gaze at you with love! She is super friendly too and happy to see everyone she meets (humans or dogs) but not cat tested for cohabiting with felines. She'd be ideal for an active owner or family who would include her in daily exercise and activities—running, hikes, etc. She's great in the snow so she'd love to be active all winter too!

Honey is house trained, crate trained, dog-door trained, and is eager to go for neighborhood walks. Honey is not reactive to other dogs, can go to dog parks, and are currently living in a home with three other dogs, male and female, from 19 lbs to 65 lbs in size. She's a good car dog as well (doesn't get carsick or overly excited). Honey does need daily exercise and mental stimulation as she is a smart, young dog; she knows about nylabones and playing with dog toys to work off any excess energy or compulsion to chew. Honey is spayed and is up to date on her shots.

🌟 Piñon Pup Update - Tuesday AM 🌟

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Milly's passing. We had hoped she would pull through, but she became too weak this morning to fight any longer. Run free, little Milly. You are deeply loved. ❤️

On a brighter note, Dr. B reports that Panda, Petey, and Tilly are active, eating well, and showing positive signs! While their bloodwork is still a bit off, we're hopeful it will improve as they heal. We'll be picking up Panda, Petey, and Tilly around 4 PM today! Eeyore, Izzy, and Spike continue to thrive at our animal care center.

Thank you all for your support through this roller coaster of a journey. Together we save lives! 🩷

RezDawg Rescue works with communities in the Four Corners area of the southwest to save homeless pets through transport, fosterage, medical treatment and adoption. We also conduct spay/neuter clinics and outreach on the native lands of the Diné, Ute and Zuni people.

Since 2011, we have supported the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of over 10,000 dogs and cats, thanks to YOUR support of our lifesaving programs..

Would you like to adopt or foster one of our rescue animals or volunteer with us? Please visit our website and complete an application. We are a volunteer-based organization and try to process the many requests received in a timely manner, but give us at least 2 weeks. Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and other treatments, as needed. That fee does not cover the cost of transporting, feeding and providing medical treatment for each animal.
