RezDawg Rescue provides animal welfare services for Four Corners pets & their people. Interested in adopting one of our animals? Adopters must be 21 and older.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and other treatments, as needed. Please email [email protected] for more information. Due to the overwhelming amount of requests we receive, it is impossible for us to respond to each application personally, as we are limited

🚨LOST REZDAWG!!🚨
Holly was adopted 1/25/25 and her adopters were taking her back to their home in Albuquerque. They pulled over in Fountain, CO for a pit stop and she bolted from the car, dragging her leash. She is a shy dog, so she’s likely in flight mode.

The adopters, her foster mom and volunteers have been searching the area for days and have posted in local groups, and asked the businesses in the area to keep an eye out.

If you are in that area and see her, PLEASE do not chase or call out to her! This is extremely important! We do not want to drive her further from the area. Please keep your distance, note location, and take a photo if possible. Contact her foster mom at (720) 273-1726 or her adopter at (217) 502-3884. We are setting traps and want her to stay in the area where she has been spotted.

She is wearing a collar with a tag that has the adopter's phone number.

Meet the stunning brindle girl, Ashanti! Although she had a rough start in life spending 3 months in the shelter in New Mexixo, she is the most loving pup and happy as can be! She loves nothing more than to be near her person - snuggling or playing! She plays very well with the other foster puppies and adult dogs in her foster home. She has a calm yet playful disposition and just wants to be with her humans. She'll be an awesome adventure buddy and cuddle bug for some lucky person!

"Howdy, y’all! My name is Dunn, and I’m a 6-month-old Chow/Heeler mix with a heart as big as the open range. My brother Brooks and I were found as pups on a reservation when we were just 8 weeks old. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home where I can kick up my paws and learn what it means to be part of a loving family.

I might be a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you! Once I warm up, I’ll be your loyal sidekick, ready to join in on all the fun. I love playing with my brother Brooks and my foster siblings, and I’m quickly learning the ropes of house life. Watching my furry friends in the foster home has been helping me get the hang of things like potty training and crate training – I’m a smart cookie who picks things up fast!

Do you know about Pub Dog Colorado? It’s a super fun, dog friendly restaurant/bar/dog park located at 2207 Bott Ave, Colorado Springs, CO.

PubDog Colorado supports RezDawg Rescue by donating all of their register “round up” donations through July 2025!! They also host a giving tree for us during the holidays to collect donations for RezDawg Rescue. They have some awesome events coming up like paint your pet day and breed specific meetups.

Please make a point to stop by, have a beverage and some (delicious) food, and your doggo can play while you do it. They even have an indoor, climate controlled play area!

ADOPT US!!
Honey and Pennie are a bonded pair who would love to be adopted together into the same household if possible. Their adoption fee has been reduced to $550 for both (normally $425 each).

Honey is a smart, fun, people-pleaser, 1.5 yo adult white & tan cattledog mix. She was in the shelter in Gallup, NM, for 3 months before she was transferred to foster care in Longmont, CO. While Honey was at the shelter in New Mexico, she became "best buds" with another dog, Pennie, an approximately 2.5 yo, beautiful, calm, shepherd mix. Honey and Pennie love to play with each other and just be with each other... given the option, they'll both cram themselves into the same dog crate or share a dog bed for a nap.

As RezDawg Rescue seeks to give each rescue animal a chance at living their "best lives," we are prioritizing adoption applications from individuals or families that are interested in providing a forever home to both Honey and Pennie together.

Honey is full grown at about 40 lbs, has a youthful, "silly girl" personality, wags her stumpy tail furiously when she's happy or excited, and she rolls over to show you her belly for pets or scratchies (or during play, demonstrating her submissive nature). And of course Honey has the most amazing ice-blue eyes to look at you with love!

Pennie is full grown at about 50 lbs. She has a luxurious coat, a superthick tail, and she will offer a paw to shake or just to signal that she'd like some attention or a hug.

Both Pennie and Honey are spayed and up to date on their shots. Pennie is house trained, crate trained, dog-door trained, and she walks very nicely on leash. Honey is crate trained, is working on her house training (she may never have lived indoors consistently before her time in the shelter starting in Oct 2024), and is learning about the joys of daily walkies with her humans. Both Honey and Pennie are friendly to other dogs and are currently living in a home with three other dogs, male and female, from 19 lbs to 65 lbs in size.

Pinion is a gentle soul with a heart of gold. This brindle beauty has a mellow demeanor, making her the perfect companion for quiet evenings. Her sweet nature shines through in her interactions, always eager to offer a friendly nuzzle or a cuddly embrace. Pinion's loyalty is unmatched, she is fiercely devoted to the humans who love her. Her gentle spirit makes her a comforting presence, the kind of friend who's always there when you need her. Pinion's charm lies not just in her loving nature, but also in her ability to make everyone around her feel special with her intense b***y wiggles when she greets them.

Pinion needs a person who will be patient with her. Although she puts all of her faith in the person she is with, she takes time to warm up to her environment. She may not seem like a girl who plays with toys at first, but be assured that she loves to play with her foster brother, she just needs time.

Pinion will do really well in a home that is generally calm. As with all of our adult dogs, she will need a home with no kids under 12 yrs old. She would prefer a canine housemate that she can spend hours wrestling with or playing tug-of-war, but it is not a deal breaker if she is the only dog in the home.

Her favorite YouTube channel is Destination Adventure (yes, she does watch TV!). She has a little adventurous side as well. Hikes are very exciting for Pinion. She does well on a leash, but needs some reminding to not pull when she gets too excited.

Our Story

RezDawg Rescue works with communities in the Four Corners area of the southwest to save homeless pets through transport, fosterage, medical treatment and adoption. We also conduct spay/neuter clinics and outreach on the native lands of the Diné, Ute and Zuni people.

Since 2011, we have supported the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of over 10,000 dogs and cats, thanks to YOUR support of our lifesaving programs..

Would you like to adopt or foster one of our rescue animals or volunteer with us? Please visit our website and complete an application. We are a volunteer-based organization and try to process the many requests received in a timely manner, but give us at least 2 weeks. Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, and other treatments, as needed. That fee does not cover the cost of transporting, feeding and providing medical treatment for each animal.
