Dog’s Hearing

Dogs can hear 4 times as well as humans!
 Dogs can focus and capture sounds with each
ear independently.
 A healthy dog can detect a sound in six hundredths of a second.
 Dogs also have a special ability to shut off the
inner ear, so they can listen for a specific sound.
 That explains why your dog sometimes seems not
to hear you; they are simply concentrating on
another sound.

A Dog’s Eyesight
DID YOU KNOW?

 dogs can see best at dusk and dawn /their low-light
vision is much better than a human’s.
they can see in 4 to 5 times less light than humans.
 dogs cannot see as well at a distance, or up close, as a
human with normal eyes.
 dogs can recognize objects better when they are
moving and sometimes overlook the same object when
it is still.
 their field of vision is wider than that of humans, they will
tend not to notice stationery objects, especially in their
peripheral vision, until the object moves.
 if an object moves suddenly, it may startle the dog or
spark a chase response.

Dog’s have an Incredible sense of smell! A dog’s sense of smell is 1000 times more sensitivethen that of humans. A human has 5 million scent glands, a dog has 220million! The percentage of the dog’s brain that is devoted toanalyzing smells is actually 40 times larger then that ofa human. Dogs can smell things up to 40 feet under ground. A dog can detect a drop of scent diluted in an Olympic size pool of water.
