(2006)

We strive to rescue, medically rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxers, as well as providing education to pet owners. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into

their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist Boxers in distress without regard to age, condition or ease of placement.

Sweet Roxy got her wings 🤍⁣

She came to Northwest Boxer Rescue with a tumor on her muzzle and a road that was never going to be easy. While her ending was not what we would have wanted, what matters most is that she was seen, she was loved, and her life mattered deeply.⁣

Rescue isn’t always happy endings — sometimes it’s hard lessons, heavy hearts, and recommitting to doing better for the dogs who depend on us.⁣

Roxy, we are so sorry we couldn’t change your outcome. We will carry you with us and honor you by doing better. Always. 🕊️⁣

Rest in love sweet girl. 💫

Hi, I’m Graf — but around here I go by Mr. Dreamy 💙⁣
Handsome? ✔️ Squishy? ✔️ Full of love? Triple ✔️✔️✔️⁣

I’m the perfect mix of couch potato + adventure buddy. One minute I’m soaking up the sofa life, the next I’m ready for hikes, walks, and checking out dog-friendly spots with my people. Speaking of people… I adore mine. If it involves hands, I’m in — brushing, spa days, and my personal favorite: towel-dry cuddle time 🛁🐾⁣

Leash on = let’s go! 🚶‍♂️⁣
I enjoy my walks and, thanks to being very treat-motivated, I’m easy to redirect if squirrels or other dogs catch my eye. I’d love a family who’s excited to teach me new tricks, share adventures, and give me all the love I deserve.⁣

Basically… I’m dreamy, devoted, and ready to be someone’s whole heart. 💫⁣

Thinking about a Boxer? Read this first 👀🐾⁣

Boxers steal hearts fast.⁣
The wiggle. The face. The personality.⁣

But before you fall all the way in love, there’s something that makes all the difference: understanding the breed.⁣

Here are 3 things every future Boxer family should know—and why it matters.⁣

1. Behavior & Training Needs⁣
Boxers are smart, loyal, and wildly people-focused. They were bred to work closely with humans, which means they crave connection and guidance. When they jump, pull, or test boundaries, it’s not defiance—it’s enthusiasm. Training that’s positive, consistent, and relationship-based works best for this breed.⁣

2. Energy needs an outlet (or it finds one)⁣
Boxers are an active breed that thrive with daily movement and mental stimulation. Walks, play, training games, and enrichment help keep them balanced. That said, not every Boxer is a nonstop go-go-go dog—age, health, and personality matter. The breed gives you a framework, not a guarantee.⁣

3. Health & Care Considerations⁣
Boxers are known for big hearts—in every sense of the word. They’re prone to certain breed-related health concerns and can be sensitive to heat and cold. Understanding this upfront helps families make proactive choices around vet care, lifestyle, and long-term wellness.⁣

✨ When you understand the Boxer breed, you don’t just adopt a dog—you create the right match. And that’s how forever homes happen.

Mia’s first pup cup 🥹⁣
Tiny moment. Big milestone.⁣

Behind the scenes, she’s still in healing mode. Right now she’s on antibiotics to clear an upper respiratory infection, and once that’s resolved, her ears will be fully evaluated next. Slow, steady, and exactly what she needs.⁣

But today?⁣
Today is about whipped cream, a wagging tail, and a dog who’s finally getting to experience the good stuff.⁣

Thank you for caring about her journey — the quiet progress, the not-so-glamorous steps, and moments like this that remind us why it’s all worth it. 🐾⁣

Meet Grace.⁣
Professional people-lover.⁣
Expert snuggler.⁣
Certified copilot. 🚗☕⁣

Grace is a 7-year-young, sweetheart who believes life is best lived with her people—preferably in the car, on the couch, or wherever the kids are playing.⁣

✨ Why Grace is that girl:⁣
• Kid & dog friendly (big fans, small fans, all fans welcome)⁣
• Leash trained with manners for days⁣
• Loves car rides and greeting literally everyone⁣

Grace has outgrown the busy farm-dog lifestyle and is ready for a slower pace with a family who includes her in the fun—errands, adventures, couch time, and yes… the occasional pup cup stop ☕🐶⁣

She’s fostered in Central, OR, loves her foster family, but is ready for a home where she can be your loyal sidekick, nap partner, and heart-stealer.⁣

🥊✨ Float like a butterfly, nap like a champ ✨🥊⁣
Say hello to Canelo—aka Mellow Canelo—and yes, he lives up to the name.⁣

At 4 years young, this handsome guy has mastered the important things in life:⁣
✔️ Crate & leash trained⁣
✔️ Dog-friendly (BFFs with foster sis Tulip)⁣
✔️ Calm, cool, and collected⁣

Canelo is the kind of Boxer who’s happy to toss a toy… and then promptly settle in for a well-earned rest. He’s eager to please, soaking up good manners in his foster home, and proving daily that he’s the trusted, loyal companion type.⁣

His dream setup?⁣
A dog buddy to pal around with 🐾⁣
A family who includes him in their adventures 🚗⁣
And a couch spot he can call his own 🛋️⁣

If you’re looking for a Boxer who brings the vibes and the chill… Mellow Canelo might be your guy.⁣

Okay… let’s talk about Mia. 💛⁣

Just before Christmas, she was left at a shelter. One day she had a family. The next day, she didn’t. If you’ve ever loved a dog, you know how deep that loss cuts.⁣

The good news: Mia is out. She’s safe. She’s not alone anymore.⁣

She went straight to the vet, where Dr. Ash Vet Center in Anaheim stayed late to examine her. That’s when the full weight of what she’s endured became clear, she’s in really bad shape. ⁣

Mia has an upper respiratory infection.⁣
* Her body is covered in fleas and ticks⁣
* She has two completely torn ACLs, making every step painful⁣
* Her mouth is full of tumors ⁣
* And her ears...Mia’s ears were badly cropped years ago. Mesh was left inside them — now packed with bacteria and an infection is so severe that she may ultimately lose both ears just to end the pain.⁣

And yet...⁣
Mia is gentle, sweet, and still trusts. ⁣

Right now her future depends on things like love, medications and surgeries, rehab and time. ⁣

Her journey to healing will be long—and that’s where you can help. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly to Mia’s medical care and comfort. With your support, we can give her the future she’s been waiting for. ❤️⁣

Please consider donating today and be part of Mia’s second chance.⁣

✨ “Just popping in to remind you that KJ is still something special.” ✨⁣

She’s been part of our rescue family for a minute now, and honestly? We’re a little miffed this 10-year-old Boxer queen hasn’t been scooped up yet.⁣

KJ is sweet, soulful, and fully in her golden years glow. No guessing games. No growing pains. Just a steady, loving presence who knows how to do life well.⁣

Why senior dogs like KJ are elite-tier companions:⁣

🐾 Already knows the routine (and respects it)⁣
🐾 Calm, easygoing, and emotionally mature⁣
🐾 House-trained and low-maintenance in the best way⁣
🐾 Grateful for love in a way that hits different⁣
🐾 Perfect for cozy nights, quiet mornings, and real connection⁣

KJ isn’t trying to keep up with trends.⁣
She’s here for depth. Loyalty. Couch-side companionship.⁣

If you’ve been waiting for a sign to adopt a senior…⁣

✨Happy New Year from the land of snorts, wiggles, and second chances.✨⁣

New Year’s Day around here looks like this:⁣
wintery walks, extra cuddles, sleepy Boxers, and big hopes for the year ahead.⁣

Thank you for being the kind of people who show up—for the messy, the joyful, and the dogs who just need someone to say yes. Because of you, lives change. Literally.⁣

We’re so glad you’re here as we kick off another year of rescue, love, and very smushy faces. 🐾💛

Ending the year like… 🐾🥂

If your Boxer had a New Year’s resolution, what would it be?
• Sit on you, not next to you
• Pretend they’ve never been fed
• Act personally offended by baths

Drop your Boxer’s resolution in the comments ⬇️
Bonus points if they’re snoring, stealing your spot, or currently side-eyeing you.

Cheers to another year of muddy paws, dramatic sighs, and dogs who make our lives way more fun. 🖤🐾

We’re often asked how we support our rescue Boxers when something feels off — itchy skin, upset tummies, inflammation, or behaviors that don’t quite make sense.⁣

One of the tools we use at Northwest Boxer Rescue is the 5Strands Test. Many of our dogs come to us with unknown backgrounds, so having insight into possible food and environmental intolerances helps us make more intentional choices around diet and care.⁣

It’s not about perfection or quick fixes.⁣
It’s about listening to the dog in front of us and supporting healing from the inside out.⁣

If you’re curious about the tools we trust and use in rescue, you’ll find the 5Strands Test in our Amazon storefront.⁣
