(2008)

We strive to rescue, medically rehabilitate, and re-home unwanted and abandoned Boxers, as well as providing education to pet owners. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into

their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist Boxers in distress without regard to age, condition or ease of placement.

💜NWBR and Senior Medical💜

It’s not about grand gestures, but about simple compassion. Giving these seniors a little extra time means giving them the chance to experience comfort, kindness, and a peaceful home in their later years. Even if it’s just a few months more, those moments matter deeply to them and to us.

Research backs up what we see every day: regular medical care for senior dogs isn’t just important—it can add both quality and length to their lives. Many health issues in older dogs are often mistaken for “just old age,” but with the right attention, we can make a real difference.

We’re grateful for the support that makes this possible, and for everyone who helps us show these deserving dogs that it’s never too late to be cared for and loved.

🐾 Happy Senior Sunday! 🐾

Say hello to Brock and KJ — two super awesome (and way cute) senior pups who joined NWBR this past week. These sweet kids will be looking for forever homes soon, but first, they need some medical care to get them feeling their best. 💛

Initially we know they need bloodwork, dental help, vaccines, microchips, and mass removals for KJ, with an initial estimate around $4,500+ for both. Every little bit helps and truly changes a life.

Stay tuned for more updates on these two…and if you’re able to give, we’d be so grateful. 🙏

ADOPT🐾 ADOPT🐾 ADOPT🐾

It’s easy to want the “quick fix”, scroll through a website, pick out a puppy, and have them delivered to your door. But convenience comes at a heartbreaking cost. When we choose speed and ease over compassion and responsibility, we feed a system that puts profit ahead of animal welfare.

Rescues and shelters aren’t about making things hard; they’re about making things right. Yes, adopting or fostering through a reputable organization takes time and patience. It means answering questions, meeting dogs, and sometimes waiting for the right fit. But that process ensures that dogs find loving, lasting homes, and that you find the companion who truly belongs with you.

Puppy mills and irresponsible breeders are counting on us to take the easy way out. But real change, real love, and real joy come from doing the right thing, not the fast thing. When you choose rescue, you’re not just saving a life, you’re standing up for compassion, integrity, and a better world for all dogs.

Let’s be the people who take the time to do what’s right. Choose rescue. Change a life—including your own.

It’s funny how sometimes everyone else knows a dog is home before you’re ready to admit it. That’s exactly how it went with Peanut and her new forever family.

From the moment she arrived as a foster, this little wild child made herself right at home. Her new mom fell hard and fast, and the rest of the crew followed suit. Even her senior four-legged brother—who may have taken a little longer to come around—gave his quiet blessing just in time for Peanut to officially become adoptable.

Welcome home, Peanut. You are truly something special and deserve every bit of love and goodness coming your way. 💛

It's Thankful Thursday!

We’ve been feeling especially grateful this week—for the compassion, open-mindedness, and genuine kindness we see from so many of you.

Rescue isn’t always easy. It comes with hard days, tough decisions, and a lot of unknowns. But your steady support reminds us why we do this work. The way you show up, for the dogs, for each other, and for what’s right, means more than we can say.

Thank you for being part of this community. We see you, we appreciate you, and we couldn’t do this without you.

Adoption Announcement-

Bruno was originally adopted from NWBR when he was just about six months old, but it wasn’t until he was 3.5 that he truly found his forever family. Sometimes it doesn’t work out the first time, and while that’s never easy, it often leads to a silver lining.

Recently returned to rescue, Bruno had the chance to grow, explore new experiences, and become the incredible companion he is today. With the support of his amazing fosters, Adrian and Jeff, Bruno was finally ready for his next big adventure.

Tammy and her family, longtime NWBR adopters, opened their hearts once again, welcoming Bruno home to join NWBR alums Raya and Diesel, along with a wonderful human sister to love on.

Thank you, Adrian and Jeff, for preparing Bruno for his new chapter. And thank you, Tammy and family, for giving him the loving forever home he’s always deserved.
