Dr. Bruce, DVM
Dr. Bruce Cunliffe graduated from the University of Minnesota with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1988. He worked as a relief veterinarian in a small animal, avian and exotic practice for a short time before accepting a position at Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Minneapolis. It was there that he met his wife Julie, who was working as a certified veterinary technician.
After working there for a few years, he began teaching Veterinary Technicians at the Medical Institute of Minnesota. He became the VT Program Director and held that position for 6 years before becoming Director of Education for the Institute.
In 1996, he took a short hiatus from veterinary medicine, earning a Master’s degree in Horticulture. He moved to Wisconsin in 2000 and operated a nursery for 15 years while continuing to work part time as a veterinarian. He worked at We Care Animal Hospital in Clintonville for 8 years before joining All About Animals Veterinary Clinic in 2008.
Julie and Bruce recently sold All About Animals to Dr. Vicki Wilke where it underwent a name change to SVCS in 2023, after owning the practice since 2016. Bruce and Julie have two sons, Andrew and Ben, and two granddaughters who are the highlight of their life, Sophia and Lyla. They also have a dog, Ayana and a cat, Darlin’. In Dr. Bruce's free time he enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, camping and serving at their church.

Our First Vet to meet is Dr. Vicki, DVM, PhD, DACVS, cVSMT
Dr. Vicki is a born and raised Wisconsinite. Originally from Shawano, WI, she is a Class of ‘98 graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. She then spent a year in Michigan for her internship before her 8 years in Iowa where she underwent the training to become a board-certificated small animal surgeon. Just to keep things interesting, she also completed a concurrent PhD in genetics. Her focus for her PhD was the genetics of cranial cruciate ligament rupture in the Newfoundland dog. Her passion is the treatment of cruciate disease, and surprisingly not always with surgery. After being a faculty member at Iowa State University, she transferred to the University of Minnesota Small Animal Surgery Department for six years before venturing out into private practice in northwest Wisconsin.
Dr. Vicki recently bought All About Animals from Dr. Bruce Cunliffe, and underwent a name change to Specialized Veterinary Care of Shawano (SVCS). Prior to SVCS she owned the Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic from 2013 to 2022 where she expanded her knowledge base to be able to provide additional services for her patients. Her most recent adventure was to become certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy (VSMT). This is analogous to chiropractic medicine for animals. Prior to that, she received additional training in dog reproduction. Her future goals for the clinic are the addition of rehabilitation services for dogs and cats. The clinic now offers a range of therapeutic treatments and services.

The best time to think about protecting your kitten is in their first year of life! In fact, nearly half of kittens experience unprecedented illness or injury before turning one.
We all want our pets to live long, healthy lives but accidents and illnesses can happen at any age. Medical insurance for your pet can help cover the cost of unexpected vet bills – talk with your veterinarian about opportunities for coverage at your next visit.

Lilies can cause life-threatening kidney failure in cats. Even ingesting pollen or drinking the water from the lily vase can be a hazard. Keep this plant out of reach of curious paws and expert climbers.
We just found an intact orange tabby in front of our clinic that had been hit by a car and is now deceased. Heidi, with Riverside Pet Cremation, has him and will hold him for 7 days if someone suspects this was their companion and would like to identify him.
Please contact the clinic at 715-524-2222 or Heidi directly at 715-304-9509.
