Join us as we work to create a therapeutic experience on a fully sustainable farm near Clifton, Virginia. On the farm, you can expect to encounter unique farm animals, beautiful gardens, and a peaceful ambiance surrounding the natural environment. Our mission is to create meaningful interactions amongst the people we serve and the animals they connect with.
It has been proven time and time again that exposure to a natural environment and soothing animals can help alleviate some of the stress individuals with PTSD, Stress, Depression, and Anxiety endure every day. Health Happiness and Hooves Farms is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers underprivileged, disadvantaged, and disabled individuals the ability to interact with farm animals, gardens, sustainable farm activities and nature. We strive to create a warm and welcoming space where these individuals can build their Self Esteem, self-worth, and cultivate relationships. 100% of the donations and 100% of the profit from our paid services go towards this mission and the care of the animals. We are currently running solely on a donation and volunteer basis. Help us as we make this dream of ours become a reality and transform the farm into a place of healing and growth. Joe volunteers at a therapeutic riding center and after seeing all the joy that it brings to others he decided to purchase the farm in order to open a place to help encourage people to come unwind, relax, have fun and be grounded in nature.
Tina was more than willing to partner with Joe on this endeavor after experiencing first-hand how interacting with horses and goats can greatly reduce stress and anxiety. A couple of her own children suffer and are challenged daily from anxiety and stress disorders. She is thankful her children had a farm to visit which helped them and is excited that others will now have that opportunity. Tina also mentioned you don’t have to have a disorder or disability to benefit from the tranquility of the farm. In her words, “It’s always nice to relax and have a few laughs; being part of the daily corporate world, I can always use a little stress relief and love that aspect of the farm.”
Lauren has added great value to the farm with having over 20 years of horse experience, starting when she was young. She is excited to be able to teach others basic horsemanship and riding skills.
Chris is our unpaid farm handyman and completely supports his wife Tina in this endeavor as he too has had the experience of seeing the benefits that horses, goats, and even the chickens give to their kids and grand kids. He says, “Although the farm is a lot of work, it doesn’t seem like work, the satisfaction of being around and part of the care of these truly amazing animals is worth the unpaid farm duties my wife has me do, LOL.”
