🐴Maggie - 16 year old Sorrel QH mare (grade). More go than woah. Maggie is a willing, easy horse but has spent the last few years mostly out to pasture. We've been slowly getting her legged back up. Needs a more confident rider. We used her in our youth summer camp so she is kid friendly, she just has an engine and likes to use it.

🐴Beauty - Older Black QH mare (grade). Her family lovingly rescued her from a neglect situation and we've given her months of care to bring her back to good health. She's a sweet get on and go mare. Needs light work considering she's coming back from a starvation. She's kid friendly.

🐴Shorty - 15 year old Bay AQHA gelding. He's a farm favorite 😍 Literally a get on and go, super kid safe pint sized guy. We'd prefer to lease him to a youth kid that's interested in showing with us.

🐴Nic - 15 year old Palamino AQHA gelding. Nic needs a job. He's a great Ranch Horse but does need a confident rider. He's great to ride out & has some Reining and ranch experience. We would also consider selling Nic in the right situation. (Pictures of Nic to come.)

It's been a busy last couple of months for the Buckley Farms crew. We've been to Athens, Sulphur Springs, Lubbock, and back for horse shows🏆.

We hosted a fantastic ☀️ summer camp for our youth kids.

What a week with all the kids for
☀️Summer Horse Camp 🐴!

We had a crowd of 14 amazing kids learning horsemanship, crafting, playing, & wrapped it all up with a horse show! It was a hot 🥵 week but we stayed hydrated and motivated.

A big thank you 🙏 to all the helpers:

The Womack family (Mady & Megan), Carole Chitwood, Lilli Rodriguez, Melissa Rodden, Mae Wood, Emma Caplinger, Elizabeth Loftice, & Jessica Brown for volunteering your time and ALL the HELP you gave us. You all were instrumental in having a successful & fun camp and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Also a big thank you to the horses and their owners who shared them with these incredible kids this week. They were thoroughly pampered & loved on and had their fair share of treats as payment for all their hardwork! 🐎

A big congratulations to Lily Quick on Chiquitas Gotta Run for her 🥉3rd place finish in a tough Youth Boxing Division with a 141.50 at the PRCHA Windy City show!

Lily was competing against some phenomenal horses including a multiple time over NRCHA reserve world champion and put in a smooth run in the reining & boxing with some big stops!

Mykayla was voted 🗳️ the Best Sportsman of the show for her great attitude & friendly personality! She was always positive and complimenting everyone all weekend long!

Emma Caplinger also competed at her first Ranch Horse show on Ichi Spotz placing 3rd🥉 in the Youth Ranch Pleasure, 2nd 🥈 in the Youth Ranch Riding, & 5th in a stacked Amateur Ranch Rail class!

Yesterday Angel, the beloved fiesty red mare, went to be with the angels. 💔

It was a sudden, unexpected, & devastating loss for both her new owner’s, the Wood Family, and our family. It’s loss like this that is the hardest part about owning our 4-legged friends.

While we grieve the loss of such a great mare we also want to honor her memory.

❤️ Ones like Angel don’t come often and are irreplaceable.

Codes Lil Angel 👼 ⚡️was a tough, quirky, insanely talented, photogenic, lighting quick, cow-eater of a cowhorse. She was young, athletic, could turn inside out on a cow, & full of s***k. At the last horse show she won the fencework handily on a cow that she felt was beneath her. It was an easy effort for Angel and you could see in her eye that she wanted to drive down the fence and go to work. She was ferocious. The kind of horse we all wish for.

She was THE most photographed horse in the barn. She has a full on SONG written about her. She danced with the cows and made it look like a game. She could level up and be an open caliber fence horse and she could carry our kids around. The s***ky 6-year old knew the difference. She took care of the littles and was turning into quite the little youth babysitter.

Raine rode Angel for 3 years and was an AQHA Youth World Finalist in the Cowhorse & a NRCHA money earner. Then the Wood’s bought Angel for their daughter, Mae, to show. Angel was her first show horse and the pair were just starting to click. Our hearts break for Mae. 💔
