Looking for barn homes for spayed/neutered/vaccinated cats that have been living outside. Most are not friendly/tame, there are a couple that may be in time. There are 6-8 (or so) and they need to be placed in sets of 2 or 3 or more. It is not safe to return them to their current outside area after vet work is done. No cost for the vetted cats, but must be able to enclose for first few weeks and provide food/water for their lifetime. We deliver within IA. ****PLEASE SHARE****

Looking for a playful kitty? Look no further!

Meatball was found outside in subzero freezing temps. He was skinny and very hungry, but friendly and anxious to be inside in the warmth. He’s about a year and half old as of July 2024. He is Fiv+, but he’s not aggressive, so he is safe to mix with other cats. He is currently in a temporary home with two older cats and he really wants to play with them, but they’re not into playing, much to Meatball’s dismay. If you have a playful kitty who needs a playmate, consider Meatball! He also gets along with small children. He would also be good as an only cat as long as his people keep him entertained.

He is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He has had flea prevention and dewormer. The adult cat adoption fee is $50. If you are interested in meeting this adorable guy, please complete the cat adoption form and we will set up a time for you to meet him.

Adopted - yay!!
Bondi (named after the town she was found limping in) is a beautiful and friendly lady once she gets to know you. All of her vet work is done - spay, vaccines, x-rays and a cortisone shot. No abnormalities found, she has a limp, but gets around well and can jump into a tall window like a champ. She has been with us a month now and has settled in separately from other pets. She really enjoys attention on her own terms. Bondi is looking for an adult home or shop where she can be around her people, but ideally can hide out when being approached by strangers/children. She may be ok with other cat friendly cats, we will do intro very slowly.

Please don't overlook her because she is not perfect. She has hopes that she will find her forever happiness. Share for Bondi!

Adopted!
12 week old little tabby bro's looking for a loving inside home together to play and cuddle in. They can purr up a storm! Leonardo is so sweet and snuggly, Raphael is also a cuddler, but is a bit shy to start. A less active household would be ideal, other felines to cuddle with are totally awesome! These boys are vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped (+ dewormed & flea prev). They are all set for their new adventure! Adoption fee is $150 for the pair.

Snow and then bitterly cold with dangerous wind chills coming here in Iowa. Bring pets inside if at all possible. Feral cats need extra protection, extra straw, unfrozen water and ideally food they can access without going out in the weather. Dogs and cats can freeze to death or get severe frostbite. Please do all you can do to keep them warm and report any pets not being properly cared for to the animal control in your area.

Stray black cat found on east side of Des Moines. Friendly. Has been posted on Iowa Pet Alert, but owner still not found. Safe Home Rescue is paying for vet care, but we need a foster home or a rescue to get him in from outside. Please share to see if we can find his home, temporary placement or a loving inside home.

Minnie & Shade still looking for their forever home... They are fun, loving, snuggly, purry, and all around great kittens. They are always right there to lend assistance with whatever you need! They are naptime friends, laundry helpers, house cleaning supervisors, or quiet co-workers. You name it, they will help with it!

Hi, my name is Minnie Mouse cause I am littlier than my brother Shade. Some day I will grow bigger, but my foster mom says I will probably always be petite. Right now my collar has a lot of extra room. Nobody has chosen me yet even though I love to snuggle and show off how I can purr really loud like a big kitty. My brother Shade and I sleep and play together a lot and would love to be adopted together or into a home with an existing cat.

Zsa Zsa is pretty 6 year old Torti who has been on the look-out for her forever home for several years now. She wants an adult home without other pets where she can share her love and loud purrs with minimal tort-i-tude. She had a great foster home fit until recently when she had to move due to the health of her foster mom. She needs to find a matching foster home or to finally have her dreams come true with a forever home. Please contact us to meet Zsa Zsa if your home may be a match.
