Name: Miriel
BREED: Rhodesian Ridgeback/Pit Bull cross
AGE: approx.. 5 months old
WEIGHT: approx. 45 pounds
LIKES: Miriel loves to be around her people and other dog friends, she just wants to be touching someone! She’s an active and boisterous pup who loves to race around the house, wrestle, and play with toys (especially the crinkly toys). She loves food and is especially excited when she gets a meal in a treat dispensing ball – she wiggles while she bats it around the house.
DISLIKES: Not being in the same room as her people, being in her crate, bathtime.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Miriel is full of energy and wants to make her people happy. She’s very vocal and likes to tell you if she’s excited, frustrated, or just wants to play. She’ll bark at her dog friends hoping to inspire play time. She’s an active young pup and likes to play outside. She’ll lay in the sun and chew on bones. She loves to race around the yard, chasing after her foster dog siblings or exploring in the trees. She likes digging and
playing in the dirt.
POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Miriel does well going out on a schedule. However, she is not a fan of the rain and sometimes needs encouragement to head outside to do her business.
CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Ongoing work in progress. She would rather sleep in bed with her people and, if she does, she falls right asleep and will sleep through the night. If she’s in her kennel, she will bark and cry for quite a while before settling down. She is better sleeping in a kennel if there is another dog in there with her (in same kennel or close by). During the day, she’s in a crate for approximately 4 hours at a time. She willingly goes into her crate for a treat and doesn’t whine as much when she knows you’re leaving. If you’re home, she wants to be where you are.
EXTRAS/MISC. INFO: Miriel is a fun puppy to have around. She’s very smart but can also be stubborn. She is working on learning personal space boundaries, as she loves to jump on everyone to say hello. This is something her foster family is working on with her and, with continued training, she will be able to curb over time. She will be most successful in a home with children 8 years and older due to her size and boisterous nature. She is mouthy and likes to play rough, so it may not be the best fit for small children as she isn’t aware of her size! She would enjoy having a playful dog friend – we recommend at least 40 pounds and above. She seeks out other dogs in her foster home, especially her foster brother, and will spend an evening in the living room wrestling with him and chewing on toys together. She’s a wonderful young pup who will give you all the love in the world.
