Willerby
4 yrs, neutered male, 35 lbs
Yorkshire terrier, Pekingese mix
Meet the handsome Willerby. He is a super-friendly goofball, who would like nothing more than to say hi and get pets and hugs from you. At 35 lbs, he may be pushing it a bit to be a lap dog, but don’t tell him that!
LIKES: Walks, saying hi to every person he meets on his walks, hanging out wherever his foster parents and doggy siblings are, chew sticks, having his belly rubbed and his coat brushed. He is a good eater with a healthy appetite, but no food aggression.
DISLIKES: Big dogs he encounters on walks and when his foster mom leaves the house without him.
POTTY TRAINING: 100%. He has not had a single accident in his foster home. He just needs to be taken outside regularly to do his business.
CRATE TRAINING: He doesn't love being crated, but he will go in and sleep for the night. He would MUCH prefer to sleep with his humans.
OTHER/MISC: Willerby loves going outside and getting exercise. He is pretty good on a leash, but he could benefit from a little training in that regard to learn to not pull or wander right in front of you. He wants to interact with all the people and small dogs he meets on his walks, but big dogs seem to bring out the alpha dog in him and he barks just to let them know who is in charge around here. He is fine with big dogs in a home, and did well with cats and kids. His long, thick silky coat means regular upkeep is a must to avoid matting, and he is comfortable with grooming. He would do well in an active household, where he can get lots of attention and play time. He gets on well with the other small dogs in his home, but despite being neutered, he does bother his foster sister a bit, but stops as soon as he is told off.
Willerby is such a good boy. His goofy, happy nature brightens every room he walks into.
