The Cavalier Rainbow. Ginger (Ruby), Breeze (Tri), Babi (Blenheim), and Viola (Black and Tan….she is Ginger’s mom). 🥰
Lily is turning 18, so this past weekend at Woofstock, our favorite show, was her last time to participate in Junior Showmanship (where the handler is judged, not the dog). Our friend Jasmin Becker lent her gorgeous dog Gucci for this special day. The Cavalier is a “free stack” breed, meaning they are trained to stand on their own - no hands on the dog until the table examination. So a lot of times the handler looks like they are doing “nothing” and can get overlooked. Many times Lily has shown our puppies in Juniors so they can get experience - sacrificing her chances at winning in the process. But her lovely showmanship of the Cavalier and her strong relationship to her dogs (she trains and shows all of our dogs) is always apparent. Her patience, grace, and determination are strong assets as a handler and as an individual, and I am ever so proud of her and grateful to her for her partnership. 🥰🙏
We are often asked how we can possibly let the puppies go. We love them, yes! But seeing videos like this from new puppy families makes it all worth it and then some. 🥰💕 #cavalierkingcharlesspaniel #cavalierpuppies
I promise, it’s good! Mr. Polite isn’t sure at first about this strange substance. 😂 #firstpuppuccino
No puppies were harmed in the making of this video. Our MiMi is the perfect cat to teach puppies about NOPE 🤣
This one is quite deaf from ear infections in her youth before we figured out what she was allergic to (pretty much all dry kibble dog food), but she is devoted to her girl. Signals have to be seen and not heard, of course. We are going to train this old lady for Rally!
Princess and the Pea
This “only child” is accepted with good humor by the older dogs. Once he’s a little bigger they might not be so tolerant 😆
Besame Much wins BOS in Cyber Show
We entered Bess (our Bracco Italiano and big sister to all of our lovely Cavaliers) in a Cyber Show put on by @pure_dog_talk and sponsored by @gooddog and @trupanion
The proceeds benefited both charities and winners of the show.
She won Best Open Show against a good field of Miscellaneous and Foundation Stock Service dogs (other dogs not yet officially eligible for AKC Best in Show, but on their way).
We’ll be using her cash prize to pay for more field training lessons! The Bracco Italiano is an amazing breed that needs to work, and we are honored to have her as part of our family. Here’s hoping 2021 will be the year the Bracco enters the Sporting Group!!
The instinct is strong. And SO. CUTE.
Besamé Mucho di Cerca Trova
Thank you to the wonderful judges this weekend that made it so fun to share our beautiful girl. She was very well received all 4 days. :)
