Lexi “blew” her coat big time a day before her last show the end of December so was nearly naked. Have conformation classes starting tonight so gave her a bath, conditioning and blew her dry and she had almost no shedding. Hopefully she’ll be growing her hair back for shows later, but I know it will take some time. Here she is in her naked glory 🤪

“Lexi” did very well last weekend at the UKC shows hosted by the Desert Southwest Shetland Sheepdog Association. She picked up 4 class wins, 2 Best Female, 2 Best of Winners, 2 BOB’s and 2 Gun Dog Group 1’s. So proud of this youngster ❤️

Just found out that “Brody”. - U-CH Wildfires Pawprints In The Sand is currently in the Top Ten for Golden Retrievers in the UKC competition in very limited showing. So proud of this young boy ❤️

Wow, that was a fast turn around time from OFA on prelim’s. Only 1 1/2 days. Results for Wildfire’s Thyme Traveler, Lexi, was Good and Normal. She is out of the Vigo/Tootsie litter. Woo hoo!

We took Brody and Lexi to the Chandler Farmers Market today and Brody got a new Fall/Thanksgiving bandana plus they both got tons of petting and loving on.

Can’t wait to see how OFA rates Lexi’s preliminary hip and elbow x rays that were done today. They looked great! Guess I’ll know for sure in a few weeks 🥰

Day 2 of the UKC shows hosted by the Southwest Kennel Club while once again scorching hot was amazing for littermates Brody and Katie. Brody picked up BOB at both shows today as well as a Group 2 at show 1 and a Group 1 at show 2 with Laura at the end of his lead. We didn’t stay for the BIS competition as it was hers and Andrew’s wedding anniversary and they had reservations for dinner to celebrate. Katie won her class and was awarded Best Female at both shows. Both these special kids finished their U-CH titles pending UKC confirmation.

Car pretty much loaded. One dog groomed and one more to go. Whew!!!

Over 5 1/2 years old now and always a good girl, but oh what a pickle Tiffany got herself into last night/early this morning 🤷‍♂️ Larry sawed a bar off at the top which he will weld back together and we were able to spread it to get Tiffany unstuck. She is sore and thirsty so giving small amounts of water every 15 minutes to rehydrate her along with a couple of canine aspirin and a big scoop of Yucca Max. She is also getting massages about every half hour. All these years with Goldens and this is a first for us.

Brody playing with a grape he found under the kitchen cabinet that I must’ve dropped when I was packing my lunchbox this morning. Game over when he rolled it under the stove. Thankfully he doesn’t like to eat grapes 😜

Decided to try doggie boots on Brody today so I can start taking him to the Farmers Markets in Gilbert and Chandler during the Summer months here. Don’t want to burn his little tootsie’s. He did very well for his first time 🥰

Finally after being under the weather since about July 4th, I finally was able to groom Brody. Boy did he need it along with my girls. I’ll try to catch up on the girls over the next two weeks as I just started back to grooming a few clients dogs the last 2 weeks starting off with 1 to 2 hours only 3 days a week with physical therapy on the other days. Here are 2 photos of Brody after today’s grooming and coat conditioning. Boy am I whipped!
