We’ve received some important news and want to make our clients aware of a recent situation where food items, meant to attract both wildlife and dogs, have been laced with poison and scattered along the Pantano Wash between Houghton Road and Old Spanish Trail.

There have been several coyote and javelina deaths, and unfortunately, some pet dogs have also died after ingesting the poison.

Please avoid this area and remain vigilant while walking your dogs. If your pet has ingested any of this poison, we recommend contacting one of the following emergency rooms immediately: Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty at 520-888-3177 or Civano Animal Hospital at 520-600-7100.

Even though I’m not showing at the AKC shows myself this weekend, I had pre registered 3 of my youngsters in the ECHO OFA heart clinic that was offered. So pleased that Brody, Katie and Lexi all passed with flying colors. Getting the exam forms ready now to send off to OFA Monday for the ECHO cardiac heart certifications for all three! On the way out we stopped at their photo op station and Laura snapped this pic of us 🥰

Lexi had a great day today at the UKC shows hosted by the Desert Southwest Shetland Sheepdog Association. At show 1 she won her Breeder Handled class, Best Female, BOB and Group 4. At show 2 she again won her class, Best Female and BOB as well as a Group 2. Pending UKC confirmation she is now U-CH Wildfires Thyme Traveler finishing her CH title totally out of coat. Thanks to the DSSSA for also giving lovely New Title rosettes to those who finished a title at their show. Fingers crossed Lexi will grow coat over the next few months so she can be back out as soon as possible 😉

Lexi “blew” her coat big time a day before her last show the end of December so was nearly naked. Have conformation classes starting tonight so gave her a bath, conditioning and blew her dry and she had almost no shedding. Hopefully she’ll be growing her hair back for shows later, but I know it will take some time. Here she is in her naked glory 🤪
