Hi there! I’m Butterball! 🧈

I was living on the streets until a few months ago, when my rescuers found me with a bad tail pull injury and urinary tract infection. Luckily, they took excellent care of me and I’m feeling much better after meds and switching to a urinary diet. Once I settled in and got to know my foster parents, my cuddly side really blossomed—I might be a lap cat after all! But let me come to you on my terms, please. I get a little nervous being picked up.

I think other cats are pretty great and would enjoy having some feline friends in my new home! I’m not sure about the young humans though…adults are more my speed. If you think we might be a good match, I’d love to meet you and see if we hit it off! 💛

IT’S HAPPENING. (again)
Meet Juliana, our third Misfit canine. 🐶

Juliana is 2 years old, 50 lbs, awkward, cuddly, clumsy, and vocal. A survivor of parvo as a puppy, Juliana flew all the way from Kuwait to find a better life. She is up to date on vaccinations, tested heartworm negative, spayed, and had a dental.

Juliana is the perfect Misfit canine because she loves cats. In fact, Juliana would love a home with a doggy friend to play with, hearty cats to groom, and a person who doesn’t mind a 50 lb dog sitting in their lap.

Juliana will involve herself in all the family activities. However, no small kids for her – Parvo left her with a neurological tic in her rear leg that makes her clumsy, so she could knock over a small child.

A gentle reminder that lost cats will most often hunker down nearby. Cats tend to hide or go back into “feral” mode when outdoors for their own safety. They won’t come to you when called.
🐱 You need to actively search and lure them with smelly foods during calm times - early morning or late at night when the world isn’t as busy and noisy.
🐱 Buying or renting a trap and leaving a trail of smelly food (sardines or warm rotisserie chicken are hard to resist) into the trap.
🐱 But ALWAYS monitor a trap so you don’t end up with raccoons or opossums, and so the cat doesn’t hurt themselves in a panic once trapped.

Former CommCat Safari STILL hoping to find her forever home!

Safari is looking to expand her network…want to connect?? 🫶

After a whole year in foster care, Safari is hopeful that this holiday season might be her lucky break! 💝 Safari originally came from a TNR operation with her kittens, emaciated but determined to protect her little ones. She saw them all adopted into wonderful families, and now it’s her turn!

Beautiful Safari is a little timid at first, but melts like putty when she’s held. A true cat’s cat, she gets along extremely well with other felines of all ages. She would be great in a quiet home with a calm cat, young kitten(s), or a mellow dog. Safari could be the perfect match for someone looking for a chill adult sweetie who loves naptime and chin scritches 🤗

Safari has been extra nice this year so that Santa might grant her only wish…to find her forever family! ♥️

Captain is a big ol’ retired tomcat who is looking for a soft place to land. He arrived in rough shape from his life on the streets, covered in scabs and old wounds. He was very wary around humans and needed a lot of TLC to help him heal. ❤️‍🩹

Captain and his adorable cheeks have come a long way since those early days and will now solicit attention, although he is still getting used to being fully at ease with people. He loves other cats! He is a lowkey, submissive guy who would do well with other friendly felines and patient humans.

During his street days, Captain contracted a virus called feline immunodeficiency virus, or FIV. FIV is transmitted between cats through deep bite wounds, so is not a concern for cats who live together peacefully. It can dampen the immune system, but FIV+ cats very often live long, full, happy lives!

We have so many benchwarmers waiting to find a home and so many cats waiting out in the cold to get into foster care.
