*A kennel tech position located in the Keystone Heights area taking care of our larger dogs in the kennel and an Adoption and Foster Coordinator position that is a hybrid position.

Job Title: Kennel Technician
Location: Keystone Heights area
Employment Type: Part-Time: 10-25 hours/week, morning and evening shifts
Compensation: starts at $13/hour
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Kennel Technician to join our animal rescue team. This role is vital to ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort of animals (mostly larger dogs) in our care. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, has attention to detail, and thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, cleaning, and monitoring their overall health.
• Maintain clean and sanitary kennel areas, exercise yards, and facility grounds.
• Monitor animal behavior and report signs of illness, injury, or stress to the appropriate team members.
• Assist with administering medications, basic grooming, and routine health checks under supervision.
• Exercise and socialize animals to promote physical and mental well-being.
• Support animal intake and adoption processes, including bathing, handling, and preparing animals for adoption events.
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and activities.
• Follow all safety and procedural guidelines to ensure the safety of animals and staff.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience working with larger dogs in a professional or volunteer capacity.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform manual labor.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Comfort working with dogs (sometimes cats) of varying sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.
• Must have reliable transportation.
Job Title
Adoption and Foster Coordinator
Job Type: Part-time: 15-25 hours/week
Location: Hybrid: Keystone Heights/Melrose/Gainesville area with some remote work
Compensation: $15/hour
Job Summary
The Adoption and Foster Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the successful placement of rescued animals into foster homes and permanent adoptive families. This position coordinates the process of matching animals with suitable homes, supports foster caregivers, and collaborates with the animal care team to ensure the animals' welfare. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal rescue, organized, and has excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Adoption Coordination
• Connect with potential adopters and helps match homes with adoptable pets.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of adoption applications and contracts.
• Drive dog transport van and conducts adoptions at Petsmart-Archer Rd, Gainesville at minimum two Saturdays per month.
• Help with other transport as needed.
Foster Program Management
• Recruit and onboard new foster caregivers, especially at adoption events held at Petsmart.
• Act as the primary point of contact for fosters, providing support, guidance, and troubleshooting assistance.
• Match animals with foster homes, considering compatibility and specific needs of both.
• Provide training and resources to foster caregivers, including behavior tips, feeding instructions, and medical care.
• Help facilitate veterinary visits or other medical needs of foster animals.
• Collect pictures, information, and stories on foster animals for social media and adoption sites.
Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with the rescue team, veterinarians, and behavioral specialists to address animals’ health and behavioral needs.
• Maintain strong relationships with foster families, adopters, and volunteers.
• Communicate updates about available animals to potential adopters and fosters via email, social media, and/or other online platforms.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to highlight animals needing adoption or fostering.
Administrative Tasks
• Maintain database of animals, foster caregivers, and adopters.
• Track animal intake and outcomes, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Prepare and distribute contracts, foster agreements, and medical records as needed.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in animal rescue, sheltering, or a related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse range of people and maintain positive relationships.
• Comfort handling animals of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
• Familiarity with animal behavior, training, and medical care.
• Proficiency in database management and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and event days.
