Lost Pet Services: Giving Hope, Saving Lives

More Than Just Lost and Found

Lost Pet Services (LPS) started as a Facebook group, "Lost and Found Pets 941," after the founder, Patty Giarrusso, experienced the heartbreak of losing her beloved dogs, Jackson Browne and Rocko. Thankfully, they were found, but that experience ignited a mission: to reunite families with their lost pets. Growing to Serv

e a Community

Today, LPS is the largest, most active lost and found organization in Manatee, Sarasota, and Charlotte Counties. Our Facebook group has over 53,000 members, growing steadily, and we've successfully reunited thousands of pets with their families. The Medical Assistance Program “There’s No Place Like Home” and PAWS Project (Partners for Animal Welfare) offer a safety net for pets and pet owners in need. A small sampling of the hundreds of our recipients of giving can be seen on our website. https://www.lostfoundpets941.com/recipientsofgiving and paws-project.org. We provide:

• Financial aid for medical care: We help families avoid the agonizing decision of surrendering or euthanizing a pet due to financial constraints.
• Adoption and foster care: We find loving homes for lost strays and surrendered pets.
• Veterinary services: We provide financial assistance for critical/emergency medical care and routine/preventative care, ensuring owned pets receive the care they need, from emergencies to sick visits.
• Safety-net resources: We offer comprehensive support to prevent pet surrenders, including essential supplies (food, litter, bedding), pet equipment (collars/leashes, crates, gates), financial assistance (rental deposits, shelter fees), and temporary boarding and behavioral training.
• Lost pet recovery services: We assist in reuniting lost pets with their families.
• Free resources: We provide microchips, ID tags, microchip scanners, and educational materials to promote pet safety and responsible ownership. Saving Lives, One Pet at a Time

Since 2018, LPS has:

• Granted over $240,000 in medical financial aid to pets in need.
• Helped reunite over 28,000 pets with their families.
• Been honored to receive the Small Business of the Year – Nonprofit Category 2022 from the Manatee Chamber

Our Mission: Keeping Pets and Those Who Love Them Together

LPS strives to keep loved pets out of shelters and in their homes, preventing families from enduring the devastating loss of a companion due to financial hardship. Community Supported, Community Driven

LPS is entirely reliant on donations, grants, and fundraising. We receive no government funding. Your support allows us to continue caring for our community's sick, injured, and abandoned pets. Join the Movement

We are committed to preventing surrender or economic euthanasia by providing financial assistance to ensure companion pets live their fullest lives happy, healthy, and at home with those who love them. Together, we can give hope and save more lives. LOST PET SERVICES, INC. 🐶🐱🐾 Pet & Baby Gates Can Save Your Pet's Life🍁🍽️

It's not too early to plan for the upcoming holidays. Be extra careful with friends and family coming and going on Thanksgiving. 🦃🍁🍽️

A baby gate can be a lifesaver. Too many pets bolt with the excitement of visitors. 🐕🐈 And too many end up getting injured or killed if they run into traffic.

A baby gate is one of the simplest things you can do to protect your pets during the holidays -- besides ensuring they wear their collars and ID tags. 🐶🐱🐾

Plus, don't forget if they are chipped, to be sure their information is accurate and current. 💉💻 Remember, a lost pet can't tell anyone where it lives, it's up to us to do that for them. 🏠❤️‍🩹

Sweet Maggie is looking for a new home. She's finished her heartworm treatment and is looking for a new family.

Since she was abandoned on a country road, she's been with her foster, Iris. When she came to us, she was missing her eye. We don't know her back story, but I'm sure was a tough one.

We will have more information about her in a few days.

We were asked to help a dog from St. Pete a couple days ago. We do not have expertise in that area so we provided the owner with the name of the best group in his area and told him to also post with Pet FBI.

His senior dog was missing from the storm and he was desperate. Today we got a wonderful message from him. Brenda was found when an insurance adjuster heard whimpering when he was on his the roof. Brenda, the dog, crawled upstairs into the attic, fell through the insulation, and was trapped in a small hole.

His owner is beyond thankful that everything fell into place to help find Brenda. Hurricane Milton caused so much damage that we want to be sure that owners of missing pets check everywhere. Even if they don't think it's possible, this story proves anything is possible.

Welcome home, Brenda.

While we are hoping for the best, we have to prepare for the worst. Please be smart and stay safe.

PSA - PLEASE READ: We are already seeing an increased number of loose and lost pets.

• Keep pets leashed at all times when outside.

• Do not leave pets outside unattended. The storm has started and will only get worse.

• Help any found pets by taking them inside and keeping them safe until pet shelters re-open.

• Write on their collars if you do not have ID. Many pets will be displaced after this storm, and you may not get yours back if it becomes lost without ID.

• If your pet is chipped, you can go to petmicrochiplookup.org, enter the pet's chip number and it will give you the registration company to call to confirm the chip is registered and up to date.

Do not leave any pets behind if you are in an evacuation area. The storm surge may kill them.
