I don’t know how much better to explain it then this. Personally it’s why my horses probably come along slower then most might like but I’m so admit that I and the horse need the basics more then anything else. The finish work takes care of itself if the foundation is so solid. The same can be said even in our walk with Jesus. If we keep the focus on him and the foundation he his. The finish work will take care of itself.

⛔️Dangerous and Wild⛔️
Back in June Greg got a call from an owner who was told her horse is “dangerous” and she was wondering if Greg could help. This young gypsy vanner was not halter broke. Greg decided to go to their place since they are somewhat local to see for himself just how “dangerous” this c**t was and help the owners out. She was not super willing as you can see from the videos but after just under an hour Greg made progress and was able to get her to a place where she could be lead.
She is now on our books to be started next year!
On the way home Greg said.. “That horse wasn’t dangerous just unhandled and lacking direction. I’ve delt with dangerous and that was not it.”

Riding Lessons: the Who What Why When & Where
🐴Who: Any one! Young or old, experienced or beginner, horse owner or horse lover. Greg has worked with people from 3 years old to 60s. No horse? No problem we have a horse that we use for lessons but encourage you to bring your horse if you have one.
🐴What: Hourly blocks of time to come learn from Greg & ride with him to accomplish goals or just get some good saddle time with a trainer.
🐴Why: Wanting to learn how to ride? Do you need help with confidence or troubleshooting an issue between you and your horse? Or maybe you just love riding but don’t have a horse. So much can be done during lessons.
🐴When: Just about anytime or date. Greg is pretty flexible about fitting lessons in his schedule as long as weather conditions allow and he isn’t helping someone or gone. We do ask for a minimum of 24 hours notice if you are looking to book lessons. Sundays are never really an option and Saturdays are limited.
🐴Where: Farnam, NE is where we are located and operate. The arena is 4 miles from town.

Still have questions or want to book a lesson? Just shoot us a message!

Ground Work - DO IT!
Ground work is the first step in c**t starting. It MUST be done but most importantly it must be done RIGHT!
This can start once the c**t is a few days old. Get out in the pen just being near them, petting them and light grooming is a great way to prepare your c**t for training.
Other things you can do are: haltering, flag work, rope work, lifting hooves, all the little things that anyone can do.
If you do all the ground work at home your trainer will get way farther with your horse when they have them and they will love you for it!
If you don’t know what to do for good beginner ground work: Ask your trainer! Don’t just wing it.

So Titan came to me back in the spring. He was pretty fractious, and worried about even moving when asked. Well this is him now after 3 and half months of time put in total. Yes, he’s been here longer than 3 months but that 3 and half months is the work I put into him total. I fed him the rest of the time and that don’t count as work. So now this is what he’s like. He is still green and has his moments but I used him for working cows and continued to get him relaxed and prepped for going on to be a rope horse. He even got led around with my 4 year old on him one evening. He’s come such a long way and I think he has a very bright future ahead of him. I will post the other half of this video in the comments. Let me know what yall think.

Titan is leaving me at end of the week. He’s come along ways since coming to me. I wish I could continue his training but Nebraska winters without a barn are not gonna allow for this. I am excited none the less for the future of this young stud.

⭐️⭐️We have a client horse looking for a new home. Rebel is a 5 year old chestnut *grade* gelding that is pretty as a picture and ready to roll. I was brought Rebel last fall to start roping on and got him going. Hauled him to half a dozen local ropings and he did well. He needs to slow down a little on live cattle as he’s got a ton of fire in the box. Nothing bad just jitters that could use some scores and quiet time. Rebel came in couple weeks ago to be legged up again and moved. His owner wants to keep him but is expecting twins in few months so just no time for a horse of this caliber to sit around and go to waste. If you’re wanting one that’s gonna have all the speed and athleticism you can get don’t pass up this guy. I have enjoyed him and I’m sure his new owners will as well. ⭐️⭐️

🌟pretty as a picture
🌟definitely has all the speed you’ll ever need
🌟has been hauled a little and ready to go on with
🌟only 5 years old
🌟 15.1 hh 1200pds

Check him out, come try him on the sled and out in the country if you like. Video in comments.

Family Business

Family is very important and family is what keeps Romans 8 Performance Horses going. Greg (Husband & Father) - Does all the heavy lifting. He is the trainer and the one to answer most all of your questions. Dotti (Wife & Mother) - Keeps things pretty. Started this page, does most all of the photography and videography. Dott’s Shotts Photography is her business page. Ezra (Son) - In Charge! Right now he is too young to do much but he sure enjoys riding with Dad on all the horses. We love to provide horses that the whole family can enjoy but will be honest and up front about all horses to keep all families safe.
