“There are c**ts I’ve loped in the first five or 10 rides and then there are some c**ts I didn’t lope for the first 60 rides. It’s part of developing a feel for what your horse is thinking. A horse will tell you when he’s ready to go to the next step. It’s your job to listen to him and go to the next step when it’s time, not to push him to a step he’s not comfortable with.

Man this is hard:
This morning Greg got a tough call.. Haser is being put down.
Haser was bought by us as a yearling. We had big hopes and dreams for him but we had to geld him due to his attitude and after that he was a dream!! Greg never would have sold him but a growing family and hard times forced our hands (one of the very few times I’ve seen Greg shed tears).
He’s changed hands a couple times since that first sale but we got a call a while back that he’d landed in Texas with a woman who loved him just like we did and that meant the world to us. She tried absolutely everything she possibly could to save him but after 5 vets and $7,000(give or take) she’s done all she can and unfortunately there’s nothing left.
When we sell a horse (or a pup) we don’t stop caring about them and wanting the best life for them. Especially one as special as Haser!
If you’ve seen our logo on Greg’s jacket or his buckle you’ll recognize the last picture.
Haser was one in a million and he earned a permanent place as our logo horse.
If you’ve heard me joke about the horse that Greg loved more than me.. Haser was that horse.😂❤️

Until we see you in heavens pastures ❤️

6 Years Ago Today!
Dotti convinced Greg to make this page. Back then he was a full time Ranch Hand & Sold Horses once a year. Now he’s Full Time Training with Day Work on the side(opposite this winter).
Thank you all for your support!

I need this right now and I’m sure others might feel same way. No matter how you ride or work your horse these things are what it takes. The weather sucks and for me without and indoor I don’t get a lot done this time of year and that hurts the old pocket book. But I find other ways to work. So I stay at the grind all the time.

There is another side to this I find it applies to as well: my walk or anyone’s walk with Jesus. If you know me you know I’m not perfect I’m probably the biggest mess there is most of the time. However Jesus knows and he doesn’t care. He wants me to keep walking, not in perfection but consistently walking with him to make the progress that will lead me to the perfection some day. Maybe!! 😂 So stick to the fundamentals of Him and keep grinding.
God bless and happy new year.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas. It was definitely an interesting tougher year for us around here. However we do our very best to keep Jesus Christ in it all and everything we do. He is the reason for everything not just the day but everyday. God bless and have a blessed Merry Christmas.

Luke 2 verse 11: Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.

Winter is here but that doesn’t mean lessons have to stop for our current clients or wait till spring/summer for future clients.
As long as the weather isn’t too wet or freezing, the ground is safe and the one taking the lesson is available and willing, then we are open for lessons!

This one went home the week before Thanksgiving.
She’s a Spanish Mustang that was here to be started. It took a bit due to weather and other things out of our control but she got her time in, did well and is back home now.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
These kids and their parents are so thankful for everyone who sent us a horse to train or entered a clinic this year!
You are fueling a dream and allowing us to show our kids that with hard work, determination and honesty you can accomplish your dreams even when people tell you it’s not possible!
Thank you everyone for supporting us! We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving day!

Today’s views.
Today was spent helping friends ween, preg check and move cattle.
Kid was used today. He’s been there and done that and trusty. In fact he’s our lesson horse! Everyone gets along with him and he can do a job. Greg started him and liked him so much he bought him from the breeder. We say that he is Ezra’s horse because he uses him for play days and our goal is for him to use him through high school if possible. He’s definitely one that we won’t get rid of!

I don’t know how much better to explain it then this. Personally it’s why my horses probably come along slower then most might like but I’m so admit that I and the horse need the basics more then anything else. The finish work takes care of itself if the foundation is so solid. The same can be said even in our walk with Jesus. If we keep the focus on him and the foundation he his. The finish work will take care of itself.

⛔️Dangerous and Wild⛔️
Back in June Greg got a call from an owner who was told her horse is “dangerous” and she was wondering if Greg could help. This young gypsy vanner was not halter broke. Greg decided to go to their place since they are somewhat local to see for himself just how “dangerous” this c**t was and help the owners out. She was not super willing as you can see from the videos but after just under an hour Greg made progress and was able to get her to a place where she could be lead.
She is now on our books to be started next year!
On the way home Greg said.. “That horse wasn’t dangerous just unhandled and lacking direction. I’ve delt with dangerous and that was not it.”

Family Business

Family is very important and family is what keeps Romans 8 Performance Horses going. Greg (Husband & Father) - Does all the heavy lifting. He is the trainer and the one to answer most all of your questions. Dotti (Wife & Mother) - Keeps things pretty. Started this page, does most all of the photography and videography. Dott’s Shotts Photography is her business page. Ezra (Son) - In Charge! Right now he is too young to do much but he sure enjoys riding with Dad on all the horses. We love to provide horses that the whole family can enjoy but will be honest and up front about all horses to keep all families safe.
