Yesterday we fixed 54 female cats, 26 male cats, and held several wellness appointments.
These are looooong days. Thankfully we have had plenty of volunteers in the past few weeks, which is the ONLY way we can do so much!
We go through an average of 1,000 syringes a week. We understand that it may seem boring or trivial to sit and unwrap and label hundreds of syringes. But each of those labeled syringes allows us to act quickly and confidently to deliver anesthesia/pain control/vaccines.
Trimming nails may seem menial, but it’s a way to check if someone has an ingrown nail causing pain and infection. Cleaning ears is part of evaluating whether an animal has earmites or an ear infection—both of which can lead to ear hematomas, worsening infection, and permanent thickening of the ear canal that causes chronic pain.
So here’s to those who show up and pitch in!! And a little video of the Pullman 7, who will be available for adoption next week through Heaven Can Wait.
