We love Day Camp! Children learned about different kinds of face markings and getting bridles on. There was lots of grooming and cuddling of ponies. They also got to make cute stall signs of their favorite ponies. Also camp would not be complete without horseless jumping!

Congratulations to this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner, John Bahret!

Joe Dotoli’s introduction speech:

When we think of achievement in the horse world, the first images that come to mind are of riders and trainers, because those are the people we see in the ring and at the in-gate, but let me assure you that there is a whole other world behind the scene that is equally important to the success of our sport.

This year’s Lifetime Achievement Award winner left a career in business many years ago when he realized his true love was horses. Since then, he has forged a very successful career as a horse show manager, judge and announcer at shows from coast to coast. And whether it is at New England Finals, The Hampton Classic, Bend Oregon, or anywhere in between, many of you would recognize the “voice behind the mic” as John Bahret, but I’m sure very few of you would know the endless hours John has dedicated to our sport in his far-reaching efforts in the governance of horse sport.

John currently serves on the Board of Directors for USHJA, as well as on its Executive Committee, Planning and Governance Committee, Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and Treasurer for the organization.

While you might think that would be a more than generous time commitment for someone to give toward the betterment of our sport, that is not the case with John. Along with his USHJA duties, John serves on both the New England Horseman’s Council and the Rhode Island Horseman’s Association Boards.

So, the next time you hear that distinctive voice coming over the PA, think of how many times that same voice has been raised across board rooms in his tireless efforts to make the sport we all love a better place for you and your horse.

Allow me to introduce the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award winner, and my friend, John Bahret.

What a weekend! It truly was a village of a weekend. We did two shows at once. Alicia took Avery and our amazing Levi to our favorite fair and had a great time. (I was definitely jealous). Mhc finals everyone did well. One of our favorite mares was not herself and GFF had the perfect horse for us to lease for Chloe who put in A solid round in the finals. Sophie and Ivie also had a solid round with a small mistake. Wilma, Hugo and Marilyn and Ivie had a great open and one small mistake away in the finals but It was a great experience and it showed how much they've learned this year. Thank you as always to our friend at Tibri who always comes to the ring with my wild children to support us. We are so fortunate to have so many people around us that care.

We had a fantastic week at NH Finals. Our seasoned horses and clients shined and our greens had a great experience. It is a final that has something for everyone. Lil G and Gracie got many blue's. Kaeli and Mr. had a great show. He is a perfect baby. They did their first derby together and got to move up. Abigail and Kevin got ribbons in short stirrup and it was Kevin's first time moving up from crossrails! Hannah and Spot on moved up to the 2'3 and also got ribbons! Ivie and Marilyn got to know each other a little more and won their Eq class. Wilma and Hugo had all consistent rounds with some blues, then had a nice round in the Children's metal to a 7th place. Horses are happy to be home and tomorrow we start to get ready for our favorite fair and Ma finals too.
