Calling All Creatures If you love animals and want to learn more about them and the people that work with them, listen in! So Calling All Creatures came in to being.

I did animal control for 12 years and not only myself but my fellow officers got asked a lot of questions and sometimes the same ones over and over again. I no longer do animal control but I stay up to date on animal related topics and volunteer with a Pitbull rescue. So one day I thought why not do a podcast to talk about some of these questions that people asked and get the information out there

in a public talk forum. I do my best to get guests on to get information out about all sorts of animal topics in all sorts of different areas. From domestic animals, to exotic animals, to marine life, to the winged, and to the crawly, slithery animals. Even though some topics are serious issues, we still have a good time on the show. So please listen in and see what you think!

"It takes one second to kill/shoot a macropod. It will take a volunteer wildlife carer 9 months of 24hr, 7 days a week of intensive caring, to raise the orphaned joey to an age it can survive within a new mob."

This is the reality of joey rescue, and that is for the lucky joeys who haven't been bludgeoned to death or left to die in the bush.

Here is one of the lucky ones.

I talked with Brandon Keim about Happy and Patty on my Meet the Neighbors podcast. Maybe if more people would contact the Bronx Zoo about moving them to a sanctuary they would actually do it. I feel so sad for these poor elephants. They deserve to go to a sanctuary, it's ridiculous and cruel that the zoo won't move them.

The New York City Bar wants the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) — which operates the famous zoo — to either voluntarily give up the two elephants, Happy and Patty, or request city a…

I would like to thank Katherine Carver for being on the podcast Thursday evening and talking about her book Abandoned: Chronicling the Journeys of Once-Forsaken Dogs. It was interesting to hear about the process of creating this book and about the dogs that were photographed. Such a great way to draw awareness to the plight of the shelter/rescue dogs. I hope all of you found it as interesting as I did.

This Thursday I'm welcoming Katherine Carver to talk about her new book, "Abandoned: Chronicling the Journeys of Once-Forsaken Dogs." This book is a photographic journal of dogs that were in a shelter/rescue and what their outcomes were, whether they were adopted or not. We will talk about how Katherine was trying to shine a light on these dogs to bring more awareness to animals in the shelter environments. So if you would like to learn more about Katherine and her book please check out the episode after it's uploaded at 8pm MST, 10pm EST time. Again just a reminder that there will be no more live podcasts. Here's the link for the podcast episodes: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/calling-all-creatures--4214759

Oh these girls....lol. Another two who both have some brain damage and love each other. They have a large enclosure with a cat wheel and a rabbit hutch inside the enclosure for sleeping. They are the most messy two ladies I think I have ever had! lol

Bobbie on the left was believed to have been dropped by a hawk. She came in young with a pierced chin and another hole between her eyes. It took awhile to recover and when the bone healed on her upper nose and between the eyes, it drew her eyes closer together. She's just precious. Bobbles on the right was the only survivor out of her litter when her mom was hit by a car. I knew she had brain injuries, she she wasn't able to hold her head still. Almost like the bobble headed dogs from the 60/70's that would set on the dash of cars. Both of these girls are simple minded and where one goes the other goes. Bobbles can hold her head still now unless she gets excited. I tell them every day how lucky they are to be so cute as I clean up the walked through food, turned over water dish and tracking little dirty feet prints all over the hutch. (The pad on the floor was fresh from the dryer. It took minutes to spread some crumbs.... lol....both are so worth the clean ups!) lol.

This Thursdays podcast is all about a company called Enhanced Vet Sciences that makes supplements for our pets using h**p. I will have Reid Parr, one of the Co-Founders and Director of EVS joining me to give us more information about their company, their pet supplements, how they're made, how they can help, and a really cool new marketing idea that they've come up with. The episode will be available Thursday evening by 8pm AZ time, 10pm Eastern time. Sorry there are no more live broadcasts. Here is the link to listen to the episode once it's published: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/calling-all-creatures--4214759

Everyone, I have an announcement. My hosting platform Spreaker has done away with the live podcast part of their service. So the podcasts will no longer be able to be accessed live while they are happening. For now I will be staying with their platform but the time will be changing for when you can access the podcast, it will be 2 hours later, so instead of 6pm AZ time, 8/9pm Eastern, you'll be able to listen to it by 8pm AZ time, 10/11pm Eastern. From what my stats showed most of my podcasts were downloaded, not listened to live anyways, so I don't think it'll make much of a difference. So please keep enjoying the podcast just be aware that it won't be available now until 2 hours later.
