Let’s call this “Wally & Bert at their Grammie’s House”

I took a bajillion pictures and videos of my cousin’s dogs two summers ago when I was visiting family in Delaware. Every one was blurry. They are really beautiful dogs, but they never stay still! Somehow I was able to get a screenshot of them in a video when they weren’t moving, licking me, or sitting on me. 🥰

I painted this for my cousin who has been incredibly supportive of me from the day that I embarked on this adventure of painting pets! Thank you, Brit!

Day 12. Black Mouth Cur



Adopting this little pup from Texas in 2017 was one the best decisions of my life. 🙌 I wish everyone had a dog like him! 🥰

As you can see, I’m slightly obsessed with him. Not only is he one of my dearest companions, but he has such an interesting figure and the most soulful eyes. I was so thrilled to see his breed represented in this years’ DOGGUST challenge.

This handsome fella is Duke, and today marks 147 days that Duke has been in our shelter.

Duke is a happy, rambunctious 2 year old male Doberman Pinscher / Coonhound mix available for adoption! Duke has a lot of energy, and he's quite the jumping bean with those long legs of his! Initially, he is very excited to meet new people, but give him a few minutes to settle down and he'll be rolling around on the floor for belly rubs and soaking up all the attention he can get! Duke is an active dog, so if you are looking for a companion to join you on your morning walks, or runs, then Duke is the dog for you!

Duke is up to date with vaccinations, has been neutered, dewormed, given flea/tick preventative, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption fee has been sponsored!

DOGGUST Day 2. Whippet

I meant to spend 20 minutes sketching a Whippet, but got distracted by the haunting form of this Galgo. I can totally see why the incomparable always paints them! I could draw these gorgeous creatures for days straight.

Since it’s August 1st, it’s also DOGGUST 1st! 🎉🙌🥳
DOGGUST 1st is the birthday of all the dogs who have been rescued! We don’t really know when they were born, so someone came up with the novel idea to have a universal birthday on August 1st for all of them. 🐕🦮🐩🐕‍🦺

Half way through the month last year I discovered an art challenge( ) that had a prompt for artists to post art of a different dog breed everyday. This was right up my alley! I had so much fun that I’m going to try take the challenge again this year.

‼️It’s already looking to be a super busy month for me and there are a lot of breeds in the prompts that I’m going to need to look up on wikipedia, but I’m hoping I can take 20 minutes everyday to try to draw the breed of the day. We’ll see how this goes! Please follow along if you love dogs. 🥰

Day 1. MUTTS!

I drew a little sketch of my friend, Judy’s new addition for 2024. These drawings are of Peanut. She’s a spunky little lady that Judy adopted. For all we know she could be a pure breed wirehaired terrier, but she also could be a combination of several breeds. I guess we don’t know for sure. I just wanted to celebrate all the dogs who have been rescued. If you’ve rescued a dog and given them a loving home, thank you! 🥰

My experience at the Munsinger-Clemons Art Fair in the Gardens was flawless! It was one of the most beautiful days I’ve ever lived. The weather was perfect! I met so many lovely people and their dogs who wanted to buy my products and asked about my work. My generous friends and (& Tyler too) were so supportive to help me set up and made sure my needs were met throughout the day! Thank you, guys!!! 🫶

It was just a red-letter day! Thank you to all that helped vote for my ensemble too! I received so many compliments all because of you guys!

I’ve got so many pictures I want to share with you from the past two art events this summer and images of my recent work that I’m having a hard time sorting it all out. Does anyone else ever struggle with this? For now, I’m going to start with a drawing of two cutie pies!

This tiny 3x3 drawing is of and ‘s Aggie and Arlo. It made me so happy to see their rescue girl loving life on the 4th of July. I just had to make commemorate it. ❤️

I had so much fun at the Lemonade Art Show on June 27th! 🍋

I’ve been such a busy girl since that I haven’t had a chance to tell you all about it.

First of all, I was able to have a great experience because I had help from several generous people in my life. I want to thank my Dad Ice Box Cards for helping me load the tent into my car (This tent is a beast!) and for sharing your portable charger with me. Thank you to Lynda LaPine for looking after my “goodest” boys while I was away. My mom, our family friend, Don .saunders.1466 and my friends, Jill and Lexia ( and ) formed an assembly line and helped me with some last minute packaging. I wouldn’t have been ready without you guys! Thank you!!!🙌

I also want and Tyler to know how thankful I am for helping me unload, set up, tear down, and then load my car again!!! 😳You guys are absolutely amazing and selfless! You also get bonus points in my book for dressing up as Marty McFly and Jennifer last year for Halloween and for making us delicious Philly’s Au Jus! Thank you for your hospitality!

This was a cooler day than it was last year, but I met a ton of friendly faces! Some highlights for me were seeing customers that gave me opportunities to paint for them last year. I loved that you swung by the tent to say, “Hi!” This encouraged me more than I can put into words. ( and 🫶🥰🥰🥰)

This show was the first one that I got to experience some rain, so I had to roll with that, but it stayed relatively warm for the duration of the show.

Thank you to everyone who swung by and supported my small business! I loved meeting you and your dogs too! 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oh!!! And thank you for taking a ton of pictures for me too!!!!

Loved painting Nomad last Christmas for Linda M.’s family! 🥰💙 Thank you, Linda!!! You can tell he was such a good boy! 🫶

This was a 2x2 ornament. I’m considering discontinuing this style of portrait or only taking a limited amount of orders for Christmas since things got crazy for me last year. I’m thinking maybe only 10 miniature portraits for 2024. What do you think? Should I still offer the ornaments or phase them out?

Gosh!!! I just loved painting this dog! His name is Hunter and he’s a good boy, obviously!

This was commissioned last year at some point by and painted for Christmas!! It brought me so much joy to paint this cutie! Thank you, Alyssa! 🥰 Alyssa ordered this portrait at one of the art shows I participated in. The next one I am doing will be Lemonade at on June 27th.

This is Gemma’s portrait (8x10 in oil on a sheet of canvas)!

I had a ball 🎾 painting her! 😂

Gemma’s mama, Angie, told me she absolutely loves tennis balls, so we customized the brand of the tennis ball just for her! Gemma’s eyes are so dark that in most pictures you could barely see them through her curly black fur, but when Angie sent me this reference image I begged to paint this one. It’s become a favourite!

This was commissioned during the Lemonade Art Fair last year. I’m getting nervous and stressed thinking about all I have to still do prior to this event next Thursday (It’s only 9 days away!!!), but I’m trying to focus on all the amazing portraits I got to do and all the fun people and their dogs that I met because I showed up last year. I know it will be worth it!

❤️This is Lucy! I loved painting Lucy! Can you tell? Lucy and her Cat Mama, Ellie live in New York City.🗽 Lucy loves to pose pretty so we had so many pictures of her to chose from! 🥰 That made this artist very happy!

This commission was a gift from Desiree S. 🎁
Lucy was painted in oil on a 12x12 deep edge canvas and I had the theme to “I LOVE LUCY” stuck in my head the entire time I painted this.
