This senior kitty is usually chilling on the sofa and hasn’t had much inclination to interact and I’ve honored that space he is comfortable in. He’s watched as his kitty sister lay on my lap for several visits. It’s really gratifying that he chose to come close and cuddle. It’s a new year, little one. Adapting to change, honoring space, being honest in and building relationships - that’s the Awwdorable Pets way. This kitty is a reminder of the sacred humans and animals. We are together on this planet and living with and not dominating our animal family members is key to an enriching life. Happy New Year, dear fur, feather, fin, shell friends. Happy Winter Solstice to those of us in the Northern Hemisphere. To my Andean relatives, Feliz Capac Raymi (Happy Summer Solstice). I hope it was a day of tuning to nature, which ever way tou could. I thanked this tree for its life giving presence. Later, I stopped to look at the mountains to the east as the sun was setting. Beautiful.

Well, hello doggie! I happened to park my e-bike at this spot in Old Pasadena, looked down and saw this cute figure. Always with dogs. Love that. Someday I’ll adopt another dog again. Meantime, this angel was a smile from Coltrane. Thinking about my dog that transitioned can be a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Literally. It made me smile so.

Today was a day for remembering all my pets throughout my life from my first kitty, photo all the way to the right, to the most recently transitioned, Coltrane. This altar is always up and present in my life. I can’t afford the ofrendas right now, but it’s in my heart. I hope you also have some beautiful memories of your fur family that have departed too.

Bike power alive and well! Awwdorable Pets bike train anyone?

This is impossibly hard to say. My dear sweet handsome Coltrane transitioned today around 12:00 PT. This is a video of one of my last walks with him before he moved to the East coast. He had a wonderful 12 years with us and travelled to many states and Mexico during his beautiful life. Words can’t describe enough how much he meant to me and I’ll see him someday in the other side. #petgrief
