The red bandana dog has been caught and is now safe at PAWS. Thank you to the community, our amazing volunteers and Babs Fry for helping us get this girl to safety. We’ve decided to name her Scarlet and she will be looking for her for forever home very soon!

We believe that Scarlet was abandoned on Coronado late Friday evening with two other dogs, all dogs are now safe and sound at PAWS. Janine who is now available for adoption, and Pheobe who was also wearing a red bandana. PAWS has been very busy this past year caring for abandoned dogs on Coronado. Although we’ve always been a safe haven for animals abandoned here, we have hit record numbers in the past 15 months. Just this month alone we have taken in 8 dogs that were abandoned in the evening hours and left to fend for themselves.

We are asking for help from the community at this time. If you see any suspicious activity, or what looks like someone leaving their dogs behind, please report it to the Coronado Police Department.

This is Presley! Miss Pres has been searching for her perfect home for a while now. She came to the shelter at 6 months old in need of a lot of training and love. She’s now 2 years old and more than ready for a furever home. Presley’s dream life is somewhere with wide open spaces. She’s not much for the city lifestyle, she finds it too crowded and she needs to be the only pet in her home. Presley recently took a long weekend field trip to a home with open spaces for her to stretch her legs and explore. She absolutely LOVED her time there and she is hoping that she can find a forever home just like this one! This is Presley! Presley is available for adoption and we’re having a slumber party, so for the next 48 hours I’m going to overload everyone with Presley content!

Presley needs to be a solo pet. Because of this Presley has practiced and become very good at wearing her muzzle for times when she’s walking in areas where there can be other dogs around. Wearing a muzzle doesn’t make her a bad dog, it protects her and others. Let’s get rid of the muzzle stigma and realize that Presley is a good girl with a lot of potential! 💕

Presley’s dream life is somewhere with wide open spaces. She’s not much for the city lifestyle she finds it too crowded. Please spread Presley’s story and get her adopted!! 💕

I just want to highlight this beauty, Harper. She originally came to the shelter very shy, she was anxious on walks and reactive to dogs. She has come so far in her training- more relaxed on walks, connects with her walker friends, and is settling in yards next to other dogs. Harper does need to be the only animal in the home, needs someone to continue to support her training journey and LOVES humans of all ages. She is available for adoption
