Meet Tucker. Tucker wanted to be friends with a Porcupine that did NOT feel the same way about him.

But jokes aside- Tucker is okay now and made a full recovery and we absolutely love this handsome man. 😍

(Although...he low-key slayed that whole bearded look😂)

Did you know that a tiny microchip could make all the difference in reuniting you with your beloved pet? While they won't track your pet's location, they will help connect them back to you. In honor of Chip Your Pet Month, we want to remind you to ensure your contact details are up-to-date with your microchip registry company, and to pair that with an ID tag on your pet's collar for added security!

Reading Time: 3 minutes Share onMy childhood cat, Pretzel Popcorn Reeder, once disappeared after a massive earthquake shook Southern California. Happily, a few days later, she reappeared in our backyard. Because of that experience with Pretzel, I always microchip my pets for “just in case” scena...

Meet Poe! He was named after THE Dragon Warrior (from Kung Fu Panda). He loves chasing toys and licking his treat mat. His favorite toy is pictured with him, a baby cow plushie (twinning!). He also loves peanut butter and cuddling with his people. But watch out during the witching hour, that's when he goes after mom and dad's ankles!

Poe is the cutest little baby and we are so happy to be his Veterinarian!

Day 4 of National Pet Week!

Today's theme is Travel with care

Traveling with pets requires advance planning and coordination to keep everybody safe. Whether you’re taking a short car trip or flying to another state or country, getting your pet safely to your destination requires special precautions. These range from proper restraints during travel to veterinary exams and travel certificates. Plan ahead, and know exactly what’s needed when you travel with pets of different species.

Traveling with your pet FAQ

What to think about when deciding to travel with a pet? Can you take your pet out of the country? Specific needs for travel by plane, boat, car, train or bus?

Most pets are not properly restrained while in the car. Unrestrained pets can be seriously or fatally injured, or could even hurt you, in a collision or sudden braking situation. They're also a distraction for the driver.

According to a 2010 American Automobile Association survey, two out of three owners engage in distracting behaviors (playing with, feeding or petting their dog, or letting the dog sit in their lap) when pets are in the car. And according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, approximately 20% of injury crashes involve distracted driving.

With temperatures rising, keep in mind that a hot car is absolutely no place for anything living. 💜

Your vehicle can quickly reach a temperature that puts your pet at risk of serious illness and even death, even on a day that doesn't seem hot to you. And cracking the windows makes no difference.

Day 3 of National Pet Week!

Todays theme is: Love your pet? See your vet!

🐈‍⬛❤️🐶 🩷 🐱 🧡 🐕 💛 🐩 💚 🦮 💙 🐕‍🦺 🩵 🐈 💜

Regular preventive care is critical to keep pets healthy and improve both quality and length of life. It also can save owners a great deal of money in the long run. Don’t wait to take your pet to the veterinarian only when it’s visibly sick or injured. Pets often hide signs of illness, and regular check-ups are vital to catching health problems early. Early treatment means better health for your pet.

Ways to make veterinary visits better for everyone:

You and your veterinarian are partners in caring for your pet and keeping them healthy. Here are a few tips to make your veterinary visits even better.

It's national pet week! Todays theme is:

Nutrition and exercise matters!

An estimated 52.7% of dogs and 57.9% cats in the United States are overweight or obese. Many people face the same issue, and the AVMA encourages pet owners to get regular exercise—with their pets! This improves cardiovascular health, helps both pets and people maintain a healthy weight, supports good mental health for both owner and pet, and strengthens the human-animal bond. See tips on walking, running, or starting an exercise program with your pet.

Nutrition is important to both weight management and overall health. Your veterinarian can advise you on how much to feed your pet and whether the diet you’re providing is healthful – including both meals and treats!
