Montey, #80 went home with his new family yesterday. He really took a liking to them from the very beginning, so I know they are going to be a happy family. So, brings around to updating the available list again.

Took out Pistol ( #68, DNA tested male) today for some training in general socialization, stepping up, and a few words/phrases. Pistol is a Violet Blue with a hatch date of 13 March 24. He is currently going through a baby molt. Photographing a Violet Blue's true color can be difficult so we try from different angles and in front of different backgrounds.

We haven't been able to put up some safety measures for our Ringnecks yet, so they are still in the house. In the meantime, mother deer left her babies under the cages while she was out doing mother deer things. While it's cute as can be to see the baby deer under the cages, it could just as easily have been predators...the challenges you face in a more rural environment.

Getting around to updating the available list. Luke ( #72) went home with his new mama and we are being told he is already a hit with the whole family. We want the best for our babies and we love it when they find the perfect family to bring joy and happiness to!

This is #42 (DNA tested female, Blue, hatch date 21 Feb 24). She was the first baby hatched of our 2024 Indian Ringneck season. A little mischievous, she likes to sit on my shoulder and play with my readers while I type. She has a little bit of molt going on at the moment.

This evening we worked with #76 (Violet TurquoiseBlue, male, hatch date 19 Apr 24) and #77 (TurquoiseBlue, male, hatch date 21 Apr 24). Theo and BooBoo are brothers from Max and Layla's first clutch ever.

Today we took Montey (band #80, DNA tested male) out for some pictures this afternoon. Montey is Grey Blue (Grey in Blue Series) and he hatched on 01 May 24. Different color backgrounds made his color appear different, so we tried a variety of backgrounds. Besides pictures, we also worked on giving kisses and stepping up. He is one of the many Indian Ringneck babies that are still available.

Had a little spare time this evening so we took Luke out to take a few pictures. Luke is DNA tested male Dominant SL Edged Blue with a hatch date of 15 Mar 24. His band number is 72. He is a sweet little baby that easily steps up and gives kisses.

Well, I guess it's official, My Little Aviary has moved to a new location. The last of the cages were moved today and the birds are all moved as well. We're only about 8 miles from the old location, but we have a lot more space. Next step will be to fence in a safe area for the birds and get the Indian Ringneck breeders back in their outdoor enclosures.

We drew DNA samples from the last seven babies of our 2024 Indian Ringneck season. Samples should be going out tomorrow to Animal Genetics Inc.

Mr Sterling and Ms Sheila's clutch also graduated from the baby bin to the baby tub. The clutch consists of Grey Blue female, SL Edged Blue male, Grey Blue male, Blue female, and SL Edged Blue male. All are currently being handfed and all are available.

Mr Max and Ms Layla's clutch (both males, one TurquoiseBlue and one Violet TurquoiseBlue) moved from the baby bin to the baby tub this morning. They started trying their kibble a few days ago and are really taking to it. First day in the baby tub is always a little scary for them, but they will get the hang of it.

Pulled the last clutch of Indian Ringneck babies for our 2024 season (Mr Jewel and Ms Passion's clutch). Looks like two are Cinnamon, so those will be female (father is split Cinnamon). Offspring will be Blue or Violet Blue. None are currently reserved, so they will be available. Most likely we will pull DNA samples this weekend for this clutch and Mr Diamond and Ms Pearl's clutch.

All of the DNA results are complete for the last clutches we drew samples on. All of these babies are available.

Posting an updated available. #72 (SL Edged Blue male) has become available. We still have leg bands to install and DNA testing to perform on the newest babies. Also, with the last five, I'm not 100% positive on mutations yet (last go around I was tricked by one that carried SL Edged and Dark), so I will update the mutations once more is showing.

Nestbox update: Mr Jewel and Ms Passion had three babies hatch ( offspring are normally Blue or Violet Blue, regular and Cinnamon). Mr Baron and Ms Corona have three babies, Mr Diamond and Ms Pearl have three babies, and Mr Angel and Ms Stella have three babies.

Updated the available list. A few came off the list, and a few were added to it. There is a female Violet Blue available now.

Pulled Mr Sterling and Ms Sheila's clutch this morning...5 beautiful babies! Mr Max and Ms Layla's babies are feathering up beautiful...I think we have our first Violet TurquoiseBlue 💜

Nestbox update. Mr Sterling and Ms Sheila have 5 babies, Mr Jewel and Ms Passion have 4 eggs, Mr Baron and Ms Corona have 3 babies, Mr Diamond and Ms Pearl have two babies, and Mr Angel and Ms Stella have 3 babies. We also have Mr Max and Ms Layla's two babies being hand fed.

Excited to see what the two babies will be in Mr Max and Ms Layla's clutch. I believe Mr Max is TurquoiseTurquoise and Ms Layla is Violet Blue. Obviously a lot of Violet in the one that has color showing, but if Max is TurquoiseTurquoise, that baby would have to be Violet TurquoiseBlue. If Max is TurquoiseBlue, the baby could be Violet Blue. We will see.

We've been super busy lately, but we wanted to post an updated available list to let everyone know that we still have several babies available. We also have more babies in the nestboxes. Sterling and Sheila are on 5 babies, Baron and Corona are on 2 babies, Diamond and Pearl are on 2 babies, Max and Layla are on 2 babies, and Angel and Stella are on 3 babies. Still several more eggs to hatch so if you we didn't have what you were looking for in the first wave, we may get it this time around.
