To everyone who donated towards the care of our sweet blind & deaf calico girl — 𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐬 for your incredible generosity! Because of you, this precious girl is finally getting the care she so urgently needed.

We’ve named her Ducky after the adorable dinosaur from the 1988 cartoon movie *𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘉𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦* — sweet, gentle, and full of heart. 🦕💕

🩺 𝙑𝙚𝙩 𝙑𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙩 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙥:

On Friday (10/17/25), Ducky visited Aquia-Garrisonville Animal Hospital for a full medical work-up. We went over her symptoms and what we’ve observed so far — labored breathing, pale gums (anemia), eye discharge, itchy ears with blue-gray bumps (suspected Feline Ceruminous Cystamatosis), and we even removed an embedded tick.

The vet’s biggest concern was her breathing. X-rays showed a bronchial interstitial pattern — which can point to inflammation or infection in the lungs (possible pneumonia, bacterial/fungal infection, or even parasites).

Because Ducky had ticks (which can transmit Lyme disease and Hemobartonella felis — a bacteria that causes Feline Infectious Anemia), the vet started her on two antibiotics to treat both bacterial and tick-borne causes.

An ear cytology showed no mites or bacteria (yay!) but confirmed a yeast infection, so she’s getting Tresaderm ear drops for 10 days.

During her physical exam, the vet also noted lenticular sclerosis in her eyes — a normal age-related change in the lens — confirming that Ducky is indeed a senior girl. 💗

Her blood pressure will be checked at her next visit — she was understandably too stressed after her X-rays, blood draw, and “urine donation” this time around!

Blood and urine were also sent to the lab for full testing (CBC, chemistry, thyroid, heart screen, and urinalysis).

🔬 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨 𝙎𝙤 𝙁𝙖𝙧:

* 🩸 Red blood cells: low-normal
* ⚪ White blood cells: normal
* 💊 Anemia: starting Pet-Tinic liquid vitamins
* 🧠 T4: high — she’s hyperthyroid, now starting Methimazole
* 💧 One kidney value is elevated (may improve once thyroid is regulated)
* 🧪 Urinalysis: no infection or protein detected
* ❤️ ProBNP heart test: still pending — will determine if she needs heart meds

💕 𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙈𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨:

1. Clavamox
2. Doxycycline
3. Pet-Tinic (liquid vitamins)
4. Methimazole (for thyroid)

We’re so thankful to everyone who helped make this care possible for Ducky! She’s such a gentle, resilient soul and is already showing small signs of comfort and trust. We’ll share more updates — including the heart test results — as soon as we have them.

We're asking for donations for the sweet, blind, deaf Calico cat that was found the other day...

Calico cat is in rough shape & gums are extremely pale...
We have an Urgent Care vet appointment at Aquia-Garrisonville Animal Hospital today for bloodwork & whatever else she needs.

Last night when I saw her for the first time & removed a tick (she was given Revolution on Sunday), then gave her Capstar, Drontal dewormer, subcutaneous fluids, a Vitamin B12 injection, & started her on Clavamox. She has broken & missing teeth, her gums are extremely pale, and her temperature is colder than it should be which is worrisome. We're praying we can help this baby & any donation towards her medical care will be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: Bottle feeder has been secured! We DO however need to line up a foster to take over fostering once they are weaned... Any volunteers??

We are in need of a (most likely) long-term foster for a super sweet female long hair calico that was found near the north-west side of North Stafford near the Faquier line.

She appears to be completely blind, so will need a calm house for easier navigation of her environment.

In addition to a veterinary wellness exam & vaccinations, we will take her for an ophthalmologist appointment to get a full assessment of her vision (or lack there of).

Tiny 2-ish week old kitten found alone in a yard. If the feral mom cat does not return by this evening, kitten will need to be bottle fed.

It is possible mom my have other kittens on the property, so we are on the lookout for mom & other kittens.

Please let us know if you can foster this baby (& possibly it's siblings if they're found). Without mom, the baby would need bottle feeding until it can be weaned onto canned food around 5-6 weeks old.
