Dog TAGS Program Dog T.A.G.S. (TRAIN ASSIST GUIDE SERVE) is a 501c3 nonprofit Service Dog Owner Training Program for veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI and/or MST.
(9)

(Train Assist Guide Serve), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is a service dog owner training program for veterans suffering from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and/or MST (Military Sexual Trauma). The veteran trains his/her personal dog with the help of experienced dog trainers. We have veterans who have served in conflicts ranging from Vietnam to present d

ay Iraq and Afghanistan. was incorporated on December 6, 2012. The Founders of the organization were veterans suffering from combat caused PTSD who knew the need for a program like this to help them heal. The program meets every week at the OTCH Dog Training Club located at 1 Souder Court, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. The veterans have the opportunity to share their thoughts in a group setting with a social worker and then train their dogs to become their service dogs with qualified trainers to instruct and review training tasks. The Dog T.A.G.S. program is entirely staffed by unpaid volunteers. Along with qualified trainers, each training program has at least one certified Social Worker present to discuss any of the veterans needs. We are always accepting donations. Please contact us for more information.

JULY 4 SAFETY:

🎆 Make sure your pets have identification tags or microchips with up-to-date information. Loud fireworks, unfamiliar places, and crowds can all be very frightening to pets, and there's a great risk of pets becoming spooked and running away.

🎇 Leave your pets at home. Consider putting your pets in a safe, escape-proof room or crate during parties and fireworks.

🎆 Keep sparklers, glow sticks, fireworks, charcoal, and kabob skewers away from curious pets.

🎇 Don't let pets get near your barbecue grill while it is in use or still hot.

🎆 Avoid the urge to feed your pets table scraps or other foods intended for people. Common human foods can actually be toxic to pets.

🎇 Remember that too much sun and heat (and humidity) can harm pets. Keep them inside when it's extremely hot/humid, and ensure they have access to shady spots and plenty of water outdoors. Don't leave pets outside for extended periods in hot weather. And know the signs that a pet may be overheating.

🎆 Never leave your pet in your car when it's warm outside. Vehicle interiors heat up much faster than the air around them, and even a short time in a locked car can be dangerous and lethal to pets.

🎇 If you're traveling out of town for the holiday, consider leaving your pets at home with a pet sitter or boarding them at a kennel facility.

🎆 Do not apply any sunscreen or insect repellent product to your pet that is not labeled specifically for use on animals. Ingestion of sunscreen products can result in drooling, vomiting, diarrhea, excessive thirst and lethargy. The misuse of insect repellent that contains DEET can lead to neurological problems.

🎇 After the celebrations, check your yard for fireworks debris before allowing pets outside to play or relax. Even if you didn't set off fireworks yourself, debris can make its way into your yard, where curious animals may pick it up to play with or eat.

Have a FUN and SAFE holiday everyone!! 🇺🇲

As with many other pages, ours was recently flooded by someone pretending to be our organization selling shirts. Please reach out directly to our email or message us to get Dog T.A.G.S. Items. We would only ever sell through square, if we were to sell online.

Look at this photogenic team! This morning we went to The Courtyard by Marriott near Mechanicsburg. Gunner had his first experience on an elevator and did extremely well. We sat in the lobby for a while and a few employees came over to “Meet and Greet” Gunner. It was a very successful outing for Brandon and Gunner. Sincere thanks to Andre and Josh for allowing us to train in their facility. NOTE: this is a “pet friendly” hotel.
