We are so busy with building we haven't had much time to post. Thank you all who follow our rescue journey and everyone who's tried to contact to volunteer. At this time we can't have volunteers the liability insurance is too high we hope in the future we can but it's just not feasible right now. January was a whole mess of a month very stressful hoping everyone had a better Jan than us. Here's to wishing February goes smoother 😅

We were contacted by Tanya a friend of leann who owns a sanctaury affected by the fires called Jan's Sanctuary. They are in need of animal enclosures for animals they have evacuated to temecula for many animals like birds(chickens, pigeons, ducks, etc), turtles, dogs, cats either donated or borrowed during these hard times. They also have a gofund to raise for the animals support during this evacuation at https://gofund.me/af2870ab
Any items or caging that could help please reach out to Tanya at +16263994042 call or text anything helps tremendously.

California is experiencing fire warnings we are not near a fire but if you need placement for your farm animal or domestic reach out we can try to help or find placement

With 99 votes for the name Reed Valley Deer Sanctuary it will be the new California deer shelters name! Thank you all who voted 🗳 ✅️
We will have some big updates and be creating a page for the deer 🦌🦌🦌❤️
This shelter will be a place for fallow deer who are confiscated or misplaced in California to call home instead of euthanasia. Couldn't make it happen without the publics support!

Hope everyone has a great Christmas and happy new year! Here is a goofy reindeer to cheer everyone up today 🤣

Don't even know what to say
We had to say goodbye to the bestest boy ever coco... everyone who has met him and knew him loved him like we did. He came to us after one of our friends passed away and we couldn't bare the thought of any of his animals going to the shelter so we took all 3 of his pets in found homes for his cats and kept coco. We had him almost 2 years now he was almost 18 but it felt like we had him forever he really did fit our crazy family as if we raised him. He was the sweetest most gentlest perfect boy ever with a big dash of sass. Rest in peace coco we will always miss you but we know you are with Dennis now. Thank you for all the love and smiles you gave us.

This is what rescue is all about! One of the younger sulcata torts found their forever home and its the perfect match! Smiles like these make all effort completely worth it! Thank you for adopting! This family asked local pages for any available adoptable torts because they didn't feel right going to a retail store and we are so thankful we were able to connect them to one here at the rescue ❤️ Heart of gold to adopt 💛
One of the sweetest adoptions we will always remember. Congrats on your new friend and family member 🎉

How do we move 24' shelters without disassembling them 🤣 we drag them with a dolly. Joy puts a panel under one side so it can slide while Peter drags the whole thing with a dolly from the other side 😆 sounds ridiculous but it works!
Here's to wishing for a tractor 🚜

Hope everyone is having a great Monday!
We wanted to ask the public if anyone had any troughs they no longer needed they would be willing to donate to the rescue? Some of our older troughs like this one has cracked (we are going to try to repair them as they do) but if anyone happens to have some they wouldn't mind parting with the animals would be so so grateful! All donations are tax deductible!
Hope everyone has a great week and a safe Halloween 🎃

About that time where the younger torts are coming back in during colder temps. We have 3 sulcata tortoises still looking for their forever homes! These guys will get big! They are 3 yo right now still pretty small very curious and oh so much fun to watch them stomping around. They will get over 100lbs! They need a safe enclosure while they grow (they can be prey to rats and birds when they are small like this). Sulcatas do not hibernate during the winter so they need to be brought in with heat light or have a insulated house with temp controled heat. Not only are they basically a dinosaur but a smart one too! They will seek attention and snacks and follow you around! They gently sniff everything to determine if it's food or friend before taking each bite. Sulcatas mainly eat grass they love bermuda, alfalfa etc, also love romaine carrots etc, and love treats like fruit!
Text us to come visit them if you are interested in adoption at 6618393919 to speak with Peter. We do require pictures of setup (always available to answer any questions)
