Rest in Peace Sweet Boy! Yesterday I lost a long time patient of mine. I deal with a lot of loss and sad emotions on an almost daily basis. But in those sad moments, I find comfort knowing that I am bringing peace to my patients and their families. But today I lost one of my first patients from when I started my house call practice and it has left a little hole in my heart. I have been treating Yankee since 2020 and over the years, my visits have become more frequent. Yankee was one cool dog. And he was such a good patient. I loved that he would get excited to see me when I walked through the door. He was so tolerant of anything I did to him. He would relax into his acupuncture and laser treatments. And I learned from him. As he aged, we would try new things to keep him comfortable and I would say that we succeeded. Yankee just celebrated his 15th birthday on 5/20. I will always remember you Yankee. I hope you crossed that rainbow bridge running again.

Meet sweet Debo!! He is a Bulldog that has been suffering from seizures since he was 6 months old. In TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine), seizures are caused by internal wind. Points are placed throughout the body to help control the wind. So far, he is doing spectacular using an Integrative approach with western medicine and acupuncture.

Ion is receiving acupuncture for an acute upper respiratory infection. Many cats suffer from chronic rhinitis and sinusitis. The needles placed around his nose and forehead help to clear up congestion and allow him to breathe better. It was amazing to see how quickly these points helped Ion. By the end of the treatment, he was breathing more clearly and afterwards, he immediately went to his food bowl.

Well, if you have not noticed...social media is not my strong point. But my goal for 2023 is to share more because I love what I do and am passionate about both Eastern medicine and ensuring quality of life in my patients. So, I will (hopefully, fingers crossed) be on here more to highlight aspects of my practice and the wonderful pets that I get to treat.

I always ask clients what their pet's temperature preference is. This is a perfect example of a patient that prefers the warm sun! Ginny loves to sun-bathe. This question is one of many that help to determine if a pet is deficient in either yin or yang!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all enjoyed the holiday and were able to take some time to relax.

One of my presents this year was finally seeing some improvement in Logan, pictured here. Logan has disc issues and has not been able to walk on his hindlimbs. We have been using an integrative approach and after 4 sessions of acupuncture, chinese herbals, and steroids, he is finally up and making steps! He is still very wobbly but I expect him to only improve from here! Go Logan!!

Dr. Beechler is now available at Nighthawk Veterinary Clinic in Mokena on Tuesday and Thursday to offer general practice appointments. Dr. Beechler will still offer end of life and acupuncture appointments in the comfort of your home! Availability is limited on T/Th but open M, W, and F from 9-4pm.

Although I did not make it public, most of my clients have known that I have been out for the past month with only sporadic availability. This was due to a military obligation (for my husband) and then me contracting COVID. Luckily, we are all healthy and today, I am back to work! I cannot wait to see my patients again!
As a reminder, the practice is limited to eastern medicine (acupuncture/herbals) and end of life services.

Business update!
Wellness on Wheels is moving back to offering services for Eastern medicine (Acupuncture/herbals/food therapy), Palliative care, and End of Life services only. I am unable to take on any new general practice clients. If you are a current client, I am still happy to help although my hours for those services may be more limited.

Thank you for your support over the last few years. My practice has grown and I just cannot keep up with the demands of general practice.
