If anyone needs a torn cruciate repair surgery for their dog, I went down to Ensenada, Mexico to Dr. Pena Jasso who is a orthopedic surgeon. A friend of a friend referred me to him. To fix the torn cruciate up here, TTA surgery, in Sonoma County would have cost between $4,000-$5,000. At Dr. Pena Jasso’s office in Ensenada Mexico it cost $1,500 including x-rays. My dog Robin, 10 yr old Lab and Rottie mix got the operation done about 4 weeks ago and everything is healing up fine. She can walk normal again and will be able to run normal again once the bone completely heals in about 3 months. It takes about 11 hours to drive from Petaluma to Ensenada, I actually drove back in one day, left at 10 and arrived home at 1 am. I found a hotel in Ensenada that allows dogs called, Casa Mayoral. A nice, clean place that serves breakfast and is 15 minutes away from the vet office. I didn’t have any problems bringing Robin back into the U.S.. I had the health certificate and rabies vaccine certificate but the customs agent didn’t ask for it. I’m sharing this information because I want other dog owners in the same situation I was in to have a viable and affordable option to get their pet fixed. Please share to other dog owners. You can find the vet office and hotel in Yelp. Look at other pictures as a reference.
