Let's talk tomatoes. 🍅Personally, I grow indeterminate tomatoes on trellis. Basically, the plant is twisted around twine as it grows upward. I pull the side shoots to help it grow more fruit. And I prune the spent leaves under the fruit picked as it grows to keep energy going to the new fruit.

There are a lot of ways to grow tomatoes! It’s an enjoyable thing for many. Gardening is a forever learning experience. 🫶Try many things to find what you like! Check out my video on side shooting tomatoes here —> https://youtu.be/BiKKnnSI6sA.

This is just a short video on side-shooting tomatoes. Used my phone for this one! So bear with me!😂Thank you Laura for the video idea! Please subscribe!Faceb...

I LOVE eating seasonally and utilizing fresh, local, right out of the garden veggies. 🥰

Here's a spring inspired Thursday night dinner plan. Most of these items you can grab from a local farm or farmer's market and know that you're feeding your family really good food.

This spring vegetable paella recipe partners mushrooms, asparagus, spinach and peas with sausage for a bright, seasonal dinner.

Well, we're tearing away at that compost pile. 😬Winter squash are about to go in the ground...

👉Cool fact: Winter squash actually get planted at the same time as a Summer squash, and they're typically ready by the fall. They're called winter squash because they last for 4 to 6 months, depending on which variety. So, you can shelf them and continue to eat them over the winter. 😁

Martha Stewart even says San Marzano are the Ferrari or Prada of tomatoes. 😁

Food and Family

Gibson Farms Food was created because we were tired of getting less than healthy produce from the grocery store. Or worse… having to pay extra to eat better. So, we decided to start growing our own food just to be sure of what we were consuming. Naturally. God had created such a beautiful system for growing good food; we wanted to stay out of the way and let it work the way it should. We have always had an abundance to share, and were constantly trying to find people to take what our family of five could not process or consume. We hoped this new adventure could solve that “problem”. Well... and for the garden to pay for itself. Not gonna lie! We are planning to add many new vegetables, fruits, and even flowers. Though our farm is not certified organic, we use organic methods and practices. We adopted a no-dig philosophy to not only ensure that the ecosystems stay in place, but also to cut down on weeding and yield a greater harvest. That means more food and more family time!
