This week’s special is Fried Green Tomato burgers with quickpickles made from our own homegrown cucumbers and fresh dill.

We’re also featuring a Black Diamond watermelon Aguafresca, with fresh garden mint! Sure to cool you off!

We’re switching from soup to a fresh fruit salad, featuring Black Diamond watermelon, fresh pineapple, dark bing cherries, clementine, green seedless grapes, and fresh melon. Served over greens with fresh mint, basil, and feta, with a light sweet balsamic drizzle. So fresh!!

I had a plant growing in one of my herbal gardens and it was really tall and leggy. I had thought I'd planted wild bergamot (bee balm) there and was really quite salty that it was a mystery plant. I had wondered if I'd gotten some new kind of milkweed from Carriel Garden and cursed myself for not marking my plants better. Low and behold, it IS wild bergamot! I've just never seen one get this tall! It's about 4.5 ft tall with gorgeous light purple flowers! Ah, the joys of gardening.

Mullein

Look at this Feverfew! It's huge. It is feverfew’s affinity for the head that is most well-known and widely promoted; scientific research on the herb’s prowess in conquering migraines began relatively early and on a large scale. As a heat-clearing relaxant, feverfew is also analgesic and anti-inflammatory, which is in part why it has been used for headaches, neuralgia, and fibromyalgia. I've been playing around with rough puff pastry in preparation of our feast on Saturday. This is a super yummy vegetarian tart on homemade pastry. Sweet potato, mushrooms, onion, garlic, feta, nutmeg, and chive.
